1394ArticleBenjanimei remember the virtual boy and n64 being on display like it was yesterday. though at the time of going in to see both, my parents were already getting a few hints from the other customers about the virtual boy's eye strain/headache warnings, so my mom just let me check out the nintendo 64 instead when they had super mario 64 playing in a kiosk Oct 08, 2014View
1933ArticleNLoganI remember the transition from seeing articles in the "Article Archives" either on page after page of the "Front Page" or the "Back Page" depending on the numbers of thumbs up ratings, to seeing articles in the "Article" section with the Newest, Popular, and Back Page with the Popular category divided into 1 Week, 1 Month, 3 Months, and All Time. It made it so much easier to see the best voted articles without scrolling through page after page. The catalyst for the change was an article contest. As far as I know there were no contests on Retro*Junk since 2005. Vertex resurrected the idea to showcase a sponsor in Oct/Nov 2007 with a Wii game as the prize. I won the contest with my article Saturday Morning Cereals with a whopping score of 42 (the first to break the 20 point then the 40 point barrier since the switch from the 5 Star rating). <img style="width: 491px; height: 371px;" src="/images/postImages/1423526280retrojunkcontest.gif">Remembering RetroJunkFeb 10, 2015View

3531ArticleDirtyD79I remember the McDonald's Super hero Burger. When Batman Forver first came out the burger came with like a glass featuring Batman etched on it. I had that glass although unfortunately I think it got lost or broke when we were moving. Still though I thought it was just so neat getting a burger with three patties on a hoagie bun. Also even though I've always lived in Western Pennsylvania, for some odd reason I could swear I had Superman peanut butter as a kid.Foods Long Gone: The SequelApr 30, 2016View
471ArticleProphetSwordI remember the McDLT pretty well. I was a teenager working at McDonalds in that era, and I both made and ate them. They were awesome. One sandwich not mentioned here (that I really wish McDonalds would bring back) is the Cheddar Melt, which came out in 1988. I remember being the guy who was selected to teach everyone else about how to make them.McDonald's 80's New Menu Items Mar 04, 2013View
5370ArticleJulieI remember the hype of Earthworm Jim in the magazines of the time, my only source on games. They showed photos and talked about the unusual art, the unique humor and especially about the superb animation from David Perry, a very famous programmer at the time and acclaimed by the industry and the players. Not to mention that the two cartridges had 16 megabits, something big for the time. Earthworm Jim were desired cartridges. Fortunately I had both releases at the time, for Sega Genesis. I miss that time of extremely charismatic and unforgettable characters. And by the way, very well written article as always, with the differentiated vocabulary that is already a mark of yours, my sweet @Benjanime. ❤❤The rise, fall, and resurgence of Earthworm JimJan 20, 2021View
5216ArticleJulieI remember the hype for the launch of the Game Boy Advance in the Nintendo Power magazine. They said that the new handheld is 32-bit and even though I thought the PlayStation had just become obsolete. Of course this hasn't been confirmed over the months. My first Game Boy Advance was the SP model with a pirate cartridge of Street Fighter Zero 2 (as always, pirate cartridges mimic the Japanese versions of the games) and I quickly got the flashcart of the time to have all the games I wanted at hand. Fortunately today I have a definitive version of the flashcart. Finished Pokémon Emerald and I still play on this handheld until today, especially Mario Kart Super Circuit. I had the Nintendo DS after purchasing the Sony PSP. I missed Nintendo's games so I bought the DSi XL model, also with a flashcart that I still have today. Almost finished Pokémon Black 2 and played a lot of Mario Kart DS, Chrono Trigger and all the Kirby and Sonic games for it. I really miss my Nintendo 3DS XL. Fortunately I kept its flashcart and all the games, now I just have to buy another model back. Again, I played a lot of Mario Kart 7 and Tomodachi Life (I miss my Mii) here. My congrats on the very well written and pleasant to read article. Just like the late and unforgettable magazines of the era of the great hype of video games. ❤The Nintendo Handheld Experience Part 2Jun 30, 2020View
