VideoMr MagicOh, that Donald. He has a bad temper, but he gets in some hilarious situations. Oct 28, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87I would say I was equally fascinated and disturbed by Beetlejuice when I saw it in theaters the first time. I had not seen a Tim Burton film up to that point (had anybody?) and so this was a whole different kooky and crazy world filled with odd characters and beautiful but dark set pieces. I loved the movie though. The cartoon and merchandise did not interest me as much. I did catch episodes of the cartoon, but was not "hooked", and I never owned any Beetlejuice merchandise. With rumors swirling around about a sequel these past couple of years, my appreciation for the original has increased. I do hope a sequel eventually makes it to the screen, but could it possibly match the novelty or creativity of the first? Beetlejuice BonanzaOct 28, 2015View
ArticleGoonieGirlI remember pouring over the doll houses and spending hours picking out mini furniture and accessories... Oh, unrequited childhood dreams! Not to make you too jealous, but I totally had that sweet rock tumbler. Unfortunately it turned out to be LOUD (tumbling rocks is loud. Imagine that.) so whenever I turned it on, no matter where in the house I "hid" it, someone always found it and turned it off. I'd have been better off with a nice quiet doll house. The OTHER Good Thing About OctoberOct 29, 2015View
ArticleGoonieGirlAs a childhood chicken, Beetlejuice was a little on the scary side for me. I do remember watching a few of the cartoon episodes, though. They were more funny than scary (which I appreciated) and the animation was fun. P.S. I have to say, your podcast is pretty hilarious. I highly recommend it :)Beetlejuice BonanzaOct 29, 2015View
ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 It really is an unforgettable film. I think a lot of us unknowingly saw a Tim Burton film before Beetlejuice and Batman. A little movie called Pee-Wee's Big Adventure ring a bell? @GoonieGirl Thanks for giving the podcast a shot. It's a lot of fun to put together and I'm glad you're enjoying it.Beetlejuice BonanzaOct 29, 2015View
ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Empty Haunted Bathroom? That's a pretty awesome fear right there. @echidna64 Of course as a kid you'd never think of the obvious solution: Take the trash out in daylight. @comic_book_fan What finally convinced you that your family weren't aliens? It's very possible they just used a mind control ray on you and are still plotting to take over the Earth.Childhood FearsOct 29, 2015View
ArticleHoju KoolanderSpeaking of Rifftrax, did you ever see John Mikl Thor's other direct to video outing "Zombie Nightmare" co-starring Adam West and Tia Carrere from Wayne's World? It was riffed by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew on an episode. He's a baseball playing "hero" who gets killed and then resurrected as a Zombie. Oh and "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead is the opening theme. It's pretty fantastic.Heavy Metal-Sploitation Part 3Oct 29, 2015View
ArticleHoju KoolanderIt was crazy to realize that from the Nintendo page on down, I had at least one item featured on every page at some point in my youth. Now most of it came second hand from garage sales as opposed to Christmas morning, but I totally played with most everything featured. My favorite was definitely the WWF toys, owning that ring was a dream come true. I love that there was a generic carrying case for the Masters of the Universe figures, like Sears wouldn't splurge to carry the official one.The OTHER Good Thing About OctoberOct 29, 2015View
Articlecomic_book_fanwell what really convinced me that they were aliens was that i had a dream like that then when i woke up i found my mom and my sister whispering to each other alot like they didn't want me to hear something so i assumed they were i found they weren't when i was listening in through the door and heard what they were talking about the neighbors playing there drums to loud at 1;00 am and people shinning there headlights through the window and how to handle it without being rude. 3051ArticleVaporman87That was the same guy?! I loved the MST3K Zombie Nightmare episode! Hilarious! And yeah, Tia Carrere in an early film appearance was kinda strange to see. And Adam West just pretty much "called it in" on that movie.Heavy Metal-Sploitation Part 3Oct 30, 2015View
