3000ArticlemickyarberGreat article. I was into all of them except for the roller blades. Had a huge collection of POGs, and when my friends and I played, it was for keeps. I remember it was usually three of us, and we each would put in 2 pogs each round. Whatever you won, you kept. I had the fanny pack, but that was around 7th grade. Everyone wore them to school for some reason. Slap bracelets made their way through our school in around the 5th grade probably. I can remember spending a whole week's allowance on nothing but slap bracelets one time. What a waste. Laser pointers were huge for me, mainly because they were popular when I was into buying and selling goods...mostly stuff you would find at a flea market. I'd pick up these pointers that came with 10 changeable tips for $4. I turn around and sell them for $10. It may be hard to believe, but I could sell anywhere from 25-50 of those things a week for several months in the midst of their popularity! And that was just dealing them out of my trunk. I made a lot of money with laser pointers. And you know fanny packs were cool since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is sporting one in that photo. This article may could have used a sixth item....Hackey Sack. It was every bit the fad these others were too. Really fun read that brought back a lot of memories. Oct 23, 2015View

2995ArticlemickyarberI flipped through every page of the catalog before writing this, and wanted to include so much more. The yearly Wish Book was definitely the "Amazon" of my generations youth. There was always so much stuff packed into that thing, you could get just about anything your heart desired from Sears. I'll probably do another one of these featuring a later year...most likely the year Super Nintendo came out. Put a few years between this one and the next one to get a look at how much toys were changing in that period. The OTHER Good Thing About OctoberOct 23, 2015View

2993VideoVaporman87I love that in this ad there is the image of the VW Bug bouncing up and down - implying something risque is happening. Then you see the guy jacking up the back of the car to change the tire. LOLDr. Pepper: The Drive-InOct 23, 2015View
2992ArticleVaporman87These are some very interesting choices, and all of them I think would be fun to play today! I loved some of the humor in this one too. " Is Daddy an ex-Green Beret whose battle-honed reflexes would cause him to instantly snap the neck of the first person in the vicinity when we wakes? Is that what happened to Mommy and why she isn’t sharing the bed with him?" LOL. I love this stuff. I would add one game to this list, called "Nightmare" from Chieftain. It was a part of the whole VHS board game craze: <img src="https://magisterrex.wordpress.com/files/2009/10/nightmareblogfull.png?w=300">5 Spooky Board GamesOct 23, 2015View
2991ArticleVaporman87Ahhh! Great read. I see so many things here that I either had or wanted, and a few things that I had and didn't remember until just now that I did! Like some of those Rock Lords and that space shuttle/pterodactyl Transformer. Ahhh, sooo much great stuff in here. I circled EVERYTHING!!! The OTHER Good Thing About OctoberOct 23, 2015View
