2756 | Article | kidcoffee | It was one of the oddest moments of my life. Looking back I am still sad I clammed up so much, but I couldn't fathom what else to do. I wasn't sure what this woman was capable of. Odder still was her vanishing six months later. I don't know if she died, or just disappeared into the night, but her house was torn to the ground with all of her worldly possessions still inside. Also she really did resemble Momma only perhaps a tad more frightening...or at least twelve year old me thought so. | Oct 02, 2015
2755 | Article | Vaporman87 | What a strange woman. It really isn't clear what she was trying to get out of you or accomplish. Sounds like an eccentric old lady with poor social skills. In my mind I keep seeing the old lady from "Throw Mamma From The Train" and "The Goonies". LOL One thing is certain, that would be one very memorable final Trick or Treat night. | Unmasked | Oct 02, 2015
2772 | Article | onipar | Whoa, that's crazy! That old woman sounds like a real maniac for sure. Must have been terrifying as a child. Good story! | Unmasked | Oct 05, 2015
2777 | Article | kidcoffee | @onipar It really was. I would have much preferred a well meaning neighbor to have chased me with a chainsaw, but no dice. I got stuck with Momma. Thankfully though, despite her best efforts, she did not break my Halloween spirit. Thwarted it a bit that year, but I bounced back. Also thank you for the kind words. | Unmasked | Oct 05, 2015

2757 | Article | Vaporman87 | Ahhh... the unbridled entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. When everything seemed like a perfect money making scheme. Here, at least it turned out to be the real deal. Too bad your mom had to go and be a spoil sport and catch on. LOL Joes weren't the only figs to suffer this fate. He-Man also utilized the o rings in the legs. Very annoying and a cheap way to go. | Yo Joe | Oct 02, 2015
2758 | Article | kidcoffee | It was awful..or at least it was until I found out that G.I Joe's could be fixed. That was epic. I was never so lucky fixing MOTU figures, but those I tended to be more gentle with. In any event my mother liked to throw a wrench in most of my plans growing up, but I suppose we also shouldn't have been shaking down the neighborhood kids for their money. In any event this was just one of many schemes I ran as a child which I am sure will find their way into more articles. | Yo Joe | Oct 02, 2015
2760 | Article | Vaporman87 | I do hope so. I just wish I could recall more of my own money making schemes. Other than selling junk at yard sales, lemonade stands, and selling baseball cards. | Yo Joe | Oct 02, 2015
2761 | Article | Rick Ace Rhodes | Cool article. GI Joe was kind of foreign to me as a kid. Given the time period of my childhood, GI Joe wasn't making the rounds again until around when I stopped playing with toys. | Yo Joe | Oct 03, 2015
2763 | Article | mickyarber | Love this article. I remember when my Dad showed me how I could fix my GI Joes. He took me to our local hardware store and got me a little screw driver and a small bag of O-rings. I set up a little area in my room just for working on Joes. It wasn't long before I had my broken ones fixed, and then was onto making custom figures. Such good memories of those time. Really fun article. | Yo Joe | Oct 03, 2015 |
