3391 | Article | Vaporman87 | Welcome to RD! This was an excellent read. It's always surprising when a great article comes out of nowhere from a new member. Thank you for sharing it with us. Blast to the Past sounds like an amazing store. I found myself wishing that such a place had been around in my youth. I would occasionally visit places in my youth that were somewhat similar, but none had a selection like that you've mentioned here. It just sounds like an amazing place. It's always hard to see those places we grew up loving change or shut down. Like a piece of our childhood just disappeared. But at least when you share those memories, the place lives on in a way. | Feb 28, 2016
3390 | Article | Vaporman87 | That's quite a varied list of favorite library books, V. I didn't read anything but magazines and comics growing up. I hated reading. LOL. Though, when it came to our school library, they did have a few things that caught my interest. They have been mentioned in forum thread... a series of books on monsters and other cool subjects. The name of them escapes me at the moment. | The Library | Feb 28, 2016
3389 | Article | Vaporman87 | I too missed out on the Pokemon craze. I actually had a lot of difficulty understanding it's appeal for a while. I would see and hear about this craze, and just scratch my head. I just didn't see the appeal of it. The same went for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Both seemed really overblown to me. I would be lying if I said I now understand it. I don't. LOL. However, I think I have a better grasp of their appeal to those who did enjoy them, and still do. | 20 years of Pok'emon: Looking back to the franchise as an adult | Feb 28, 2016
3388 | Article | Vaporman87 | I always enjoy the articles in which you explore some set of memories. They are your best works. This one is no exception. It definitely puts me in mind of a perfect weekend. Great stuff, TDitH. | Memories of a Perfect Weekend | Feb 28, 2016
3387 | Article | Benjanime | i did get to play a bit of pok'emon white from a nephew of mine. can i just say that i'm one of the few people that's not fond of the recent pok'emon designs? lol. go for it man. i bought the red version on my 3DS and i've been having a hard time putting it down. | 20 years of Pok'emon: Looking back to the franchise as an adult | Feb 28, 2016
3386 | Article | massreality | That was a great break down of your relationship with the series. I was in high school by 1998, so I missed out on the Pokemon bandwagon. I remember watching all the kids on the bus playing and trading cards, and I felt like I was missing out on something big. Back when Black/White came out on the DS, I bought a copy of Black just to see what all the fuss was about. I can't say that I fell totally in love with it, but I did enjoy the time I spent with the game. My girlfriend has taken over my 3DS XL once I introduced her to Animal Crossing, so I ordered myself a new one that should be here on Monday. I plan on buying Yellow from the Virtual Console, so I can truly dig in on the old school Pokemon. | 20 years of Pok'emon: Looking back to the franchise as an adult | Feb 27, 2016
3385 | Article | Hoju Koolander | @Rick Ace Rhodes Believe me, I wanted to like Masked Rider and even bought an action figure to try and jump start my fandom, but the show just didn't do it for me. Glad you are a loyal fan though. | Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1 | Feb 27, 2016
3384 | Article | Rick Ace Rhodes | Funny man, ever since my RJ days I was planning an article devoted to Saban's other adaptions. Believe or not, I grew up on Masked Rider. It was one of my favorite shows growing up. I still have an old VHS tape filled with different episodes of the show. Looking back on it when I'm older I can see why so many people hate it, but it still holds a place in my heart. | Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1 | Feb 26, 2016
3383 | Article | OldSchool80s | Fun stuff, especially the cereal. I would've have definitely included Pee-Wee's Playhouse on my schedule. I kept Bugs Bunny in my rotation all the way through, so whatever version probably Bugs | The Perfect Saturday Morning | Feb 25, 2016
3382 | Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 Obviously I was watching Power Rangers beyond the suggested age range, but I am with you on Pokemon, that show is garbage. I was watching an episode with my son recently and they literally just repeat variations of the same dialogue over and over again until they get to the Pokemon battle. Talk about mind-numbing. @pikachulover Hopefully you can forgive my previous comment, but I'm glad to know you were on the fringe with me watching Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. I had a buddy with the Servo toy and one of the monsters and I thought it was pretty cool. @Benjanime You Sonic fans are a loyal bunch and Jaleel White thanks you for the paychecks. That would be an interesting story to hear the details of. I thought Sonic aired on ABC and not FOX like MMPR, so there must have been some serious conspiracy theory stuff going on there. | Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1 | Feb 24, 2016 |
