Article | Hoju Koolander | Another great Christmas tale. The disappointment your little brother experienced is heartbreaking, but it's great that he had a sibling who understood him. It's crazy to think of that limbo period of no readily available Star Wars toys. I feel a special connection to this story since Yoda was my nickname as an infant and as a result I had quite a few items of Yoda merchandise growing up. I would have gladly donated some to your brother had I known you guys back in the day. | Dec 13, 2016 | ![]() |
Article | Rick Ace Rhodes | I never got to play with Go Bots because they were before my time, but I honestly wish they were still around. Given the poor quality of Transformers times now and even when I was young, Go Bots probably would of been cooler to play with. Mainly because Tonka has always been a quality brand of toys. | Christmas 1985 Through My Gobots Camera Lens | Dec 13, 2016 | ![]()
Article | Rick Ace Rhodes | Aww... that sucks. Kind of funny though, it will probably be a nice story to tell the children one day. | Christmas Conundrum | Dec 13, 2016 | ![]()
Article | SockofFleagulls | @mickyarber thanks for the kind words! We Gobots fans need to stick together. @massreality Thanks! | Christmas 1985 Through My Gobots Camera Lens | Dec 13, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | When I won a X-Box 360 and gave it to my boys I opened it and created profiles and downloaded games like the week before so that it was ready to roll Christmas morning. That F-14 looks sweet. I had WWII fighter that was gas powered but flew in a circle on a hand held line. I never did get a Genesis but I loved me some Altered Beast in the arcade and secretly wanted one but the Nintendo dominated in my house. | A Very Sega Christmas | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | I don't know about a hot toys Yoda but I passed once on a pretty cool one that was 1:1 size. I could have picked it as part of a costume contest win. Instead of going all for one thing I decided to get lots of little things. Too bad your bro never got one, cool that you are going to finally get him his Christmas wish. <img src="/images/postImages/1481582526darthmaul-(17).gif"> | Christmas Conundrum | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | @vkimo: You said it, brother. All the rigamaro involved in setting up a console these days just sucks the fun out of it. | A Very Sega Christmas | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | vkimo | Thanks for sharing. It's very poignant how video games help kids find refuge at times. Ever since the mid 80s the quintessential game console has taken the number on spot on most boys wishlists. I feel the magic is gone on todays consoles. I remember getting a Xbox 360 and spending 20 minutes to set up a profile and download the latest firmware, kind of killed the excitement | A Very Sega Christmas | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | vkimo | @micky- My wife told me about that shortly after I told her about the article. Although in this case it was a Hooters restaurant doing the prank as a sales contest, the waitress sued though. I guess the confusion for Yoda and pickups isn't ungrounded, which should cheer him up haha | Christmas Conundrum | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | mickyarber | I had a very similar experience (without the divorce) when I got my Super Nintendo for Christmas one year. I begged for it for months, and on Christmas morning, I opened an SNES game first. My parents played it off, saying it was a mistake and it was for my brother. (He already had and SNES since he was working). But at the end of the morning, there was the SNES in the last package. I seem to recall having a very similar, if not the exact same, remote controlled fighter jet once upon a time too. But good read, and you really triggered some old memories for me. | A Very Sega Christmas | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
