ArticlepikachuloverRescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck were my favorites. I even have the lunchboxes for each of those cartoons. I had to beg my parents to take me there. I hadn't been to Disneyland since 1986 when they took me there for my birthday. We went on Columbus Day back when the schools still gave that holiday off. I didn't get autographs, but I did get pictures! I really wanted to see Gadget most of all. I was so happy to meet her. My mom even got into and took a picture next to the Grammi Gummi standup. If I remember correctly the boats had recording of the characters voices. I almost crashed a car in the autopia! Did you get the map the blank spaces that you had go around the area to get it stamped? I had that poster up in my room for years. It got so faded! I forgot what happened to it. My parents also bought me a small plush Chip doll. I was disappointed they didn't have Gadget ones. Do remember that special that KHJ/KCAL showed on Disney Afternoon live?  Jan 17, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87Any idea if Disney World participated in this? The Disney Afternoon RevisitedJan 17, 2015View
VideoCaps 2.0I'm sorry about the slightly out-of-synch videos. It's strange...When I first rippred them from the DVDs, the audio and video were in-synch, but once I used my editing program and converted them to FLV files, the audio went askew. I hope this isn't a regular thing in the future, but I don't know a way to ensure that the video will be in-synch.Running ScaredJan 17, 2015View
ArticleMr MagicI wonder what made the TaleSpin animators decide to give Kit a backwards ball cap, which is a 90s look, not a 30s/40s look. The Disney Afternoon RevisitedJan 17, 2015View
ArticleHoju Koolander@pikachulover I guess I should have collaborated with you for more personal photographic evidence of the event. At least Gadget got her own ride once Toontown opened, what a tribute! I didn't remember the stamp on the map deal, sounds cool. I definitely was watching The Disney Afternoon on KCAL 9, I think I linked to that special. Was it the one with the Olsen Twins? @Vaporman87 I have found evidence on YouTube that Disney World had a Disney Afternoon stage show at Mickey's Starland, but no mention of the Avenue and ride conversions. @thecrow174 Another great observation. I guess futuristic surfboards aren't very fitting for the timeframe either, but they probably knew they had to give kids someone to identify with, despite looking like he came from a totally different series. The Disney Afternoon RevisitedJan 18, 2015View
VideoVaporman87It's cool Caps. I've had that happen with my software as well.Running ScaredJan 18, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87Man, something seemed so familiar about that Jenny Lewis, but after doing a Google search on her, she was not in any films that I ever really gave much attention to. She must have "one of those faces". Anyhow, I missed out on Out of this World (never watched an entire episode if memory serves). It seems like something I would have been interested in back in the day. Just for whatever reason, I never gave it a chance. I think the commercials that crack me up the most are the ones that have big time celebrities in them. Like Brad Pitt. Funny seeing these high profile celebs just starting out by doing the commercial circuit. 80's Child Stars in TV CommercialsJan 19, 2015View
ArticleHoju KoolanderYeah, I guess I did go kind of obscure by choosing the stars of mostly syndicated shows, but the truth is I watched a lot of lame Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning TV growing up. How about I make it up to you with this bonus 80's Burger King commercial featuring a teeny-tiny Sarah Michelle Gellar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU6gzE7k9cY. 1816VideoHoju KoolanderSteve Levitt played Thor's alter-ego/conduit, Donald Blake in The Return of the Incredible Hulk TV movie. So when I caught this flick for the first time on Netflix a while back, it was weird to see him basically taking on the Bruce Banner role by transforming from puny pipsqueak to macho muscle man. Unfortunately the movie really drags when he's not on screen, despite the wacky beach comedy elements.HunkJan 21, 2015View
ArticleHoju KoolanderWhile I find JP3 to be a far superior film to this one, I really enjoyed your article. I love the fold out from the soundtrack CD, what a great decoration for your party. I remember the same confusion with the toys when the original film came out. The Dino-Damage tear away flesh on the dinosaurs was awesome, but Malcolm and Ellie were the only ones that resembled the actors from the movie.
