2612ArticleHoju KoolanderGreat story and description of the concert video. I live in Alice's current place of residence in Phoenix, AZ and he is all over the place out here. His Cooperstown restaurant, ads for car dealerships on the side of a city bus that say, "Tell 'em Alice sent ya!" and yet, I have never seen the man live. Arizona needs go be a destination for you if you love Alice. I did watch the Super Duper Alice Cooper documentary though, pretty fascinating story. Of course I was introduced to and loved him in Wayne's World, "Feed My Frankenstein" is a great rocker.  Sep 05, 2015View
2538ArticleVaporman87Great story mass! What a odd and interesting way to finally end up with an NES. The year I and my brother first got an NES of our own was probably the greatest Christmas (as far as sheer number of awesome presents) I ever had. Not only did we get the NES and games, but also we each got our own ATVs! It was crazy. I'll never forget that Christmas. How I Got My NESAug 18, 2015View
3832Articleshakin steakGreat story, I'm reading this for at least the 2nd time now. I also had trouble getting a Nintendo at first, and it wasn't because we already had an Atari. I don't remember what ultimately happened, sad to say. But I think when my dad asked if we would spend our own allowance money and we said yes, he decided to cover the difference. I presume my parents discussed the issue with other parents and realized it was a trend that couldn't be ignored like action figures and cable TV.How I Got My NESApr 16, 2017View
574ArticleRevJGreat story! I can still remember the days my mum asked me if I wanted to keep the Atari, and the C64. And I said I didn't, check em... Wail! However she is actually moving house later this month, and if there's no old boxes of mine to plunder, I will be peeking at my brother's and sister's stuff :)My Visit To The AtticApr 14, 2013View
5385Articleechidna64Great story! Reading between the lines, I think that they really liked your ideas (especially since they attached a list of toy brokers) but probably couldn't comment publicly due to legal reasons. Battling the TrollsFeb 10, 2021View
2945ArticleDirtyD79Great story. 7th grade was the last time I went out trick or treating too. What happened that night was a blizzard. I think me, my brother, and one of our friends were the only kids out that night on the street. Fittingly I dressed up as Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat although wearing a coat kinda threw the whole look off. While we did get a lot of candy that night we ended up paying for it, All three of us ended up getting the flu. After that I just grew out of it. My Final HalloweenOct 15, 2015View
1599ArticleSockofFleagullsGreat story. Can't remember how old I was when I found presents in my parent's closet (mid 80s), but I do recall finding something G.I. Joe related. Never told them about it either. No recollection of Spinjas!1990 - The Year Santa DiedDec 10, 2014View
2371ArticleHoju KoolanderGreat story. Contests and Sweepstakes were awesome as a kid, especially to toy store runs, but I also just love treasured shirts of childhood. I had a shirt that said Pope Tour on it, listing all the destination cities for Pope John Paul II. I'm not Catholic, he was just a pop culture icon to me. I finally broke down and bought one on eBay a few years back. Doesn't even fit, but I love it.Retro-graphic Evidence: Xardion Lives!Jul 09, 2015View
2347ArticleHoju KoolanderGreat subject and memories. I always dreamed of a treehouse as well. We even had a gigantic tree in our backyard I thought would have been perfect, but the trunk was so tall, the nearest branches were like 25 feet off the ground in the "danger zone". I had to settle for "building" a fort in the bushes at the base of a large tree in our front yard, but it wasn't the same. Castles of YesteryearJul 04, 2015View
3656ArticlevkimoGreat timing, I'm currently enroute from San Francisco to Philadelphia. Except I'm driving solo. What gas station in Utah did you loose Nuggit? Maybe I'll find him behind the churro maker. Also, good luck finding a Rambler on Find-A-Car Bingo!Family Road TripsJan 03, 2017View
