3221 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I can totally see this being a network Christmas special sponsored by Atari in 1981 starring Scott Baio or Michael J Fox. Such a heartwarming tale for the holidays. | Dec 14, 2015
3222 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I laughed at your comparison to Cousin Eddie, that really set the scene. All my extended family lived out of state growing up so Christmas time was celebrated with just my older brother and sister's families, I would have loved a huge party like this to complain about years later;) | What a Stuffy Party! | Dec 14, 2015
3223 | Article | Hoju Koolander | The explosions and makeup parts were fun, but I am more touched that you got along with your Mom's boyfriend's daughter. I had as similar experience, where my Mom's boyfriend wasn't my favorite guy in the world, but his Grandson and I were best buds. They could take as much time for hanky-panky as they wanted as long as the two of us got to hang out. We're still in touch today and have many years of adventures to look back on. | Expl-ho-ho-ho-sion | Dec 14, 2015
3250 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Construx were my go-to over Legos for the reason you mentioned, the ability to build your own playsets for action figures. Legos were too small and took forever to form into anything substantial, but with a few clicks of your Construx pieces around those little blue connector pieces you were set. You didn't need to whine to your parents for $50 to buy the Batcave, you could just make your own. I also use to build myself futuristic exo-skeleton armor weapons for for my forearms. | Random Retro Part 1 | Jan 06, 2016
3271 | Article | Hoju Koolander | @echidna64 Thanks for giving us a listen. More retro movie fun to come this week. @vaporman87 Noah's Ark, we totally blew it. That's the perfect artifact for the next sequel. The biblical ones are always a hit. @NLogan That's awesome that you were in the middle of the Indy storm. | Indiana Jones Memories | Jan 11, 2016
3272 | Article | Hoju Koolander | That's awesome that your Dad recorded your songs with you. My son is guitar obsessed and always wants me to play my original songs for him. I can only imagine he'll be penning his own tunes soon. | My Favorite Christmas Gifts As A Kid in the 80s & 90s | Jan 12, 2016
3273 | Article | Hoju Koolander | My first CD was Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, which I still own. It was a mysterious media format to me in the mid 90's, being so devoted to listening and recording on audio cassettes. | My first CD's | Jan 13, 2016
3288 | Article | Hoju Koolander | What a varied list, this was awesome. Those Playskool People are such time capsule figures, seeing as they were created to represent the "contemporary" look of everyday people from that era. I too have long been amazed by R-Rated toy lines like Terminator 2, Demolition Man, Predator and Rambo. The basic attitude of the day seemed to be, "If it looks cool, mold it in plastic for the kids". That was a great story about your Miss Elizabeth figure. My Dad was also involved in a lot of my collecting during childhood, though it was most definitely not his thing. | Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2015! | Jan 20, 2016
3302 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I totally remember watching the Robocop appearance live and later on, Chucky. All I can say is that Ernest "The Cat" Miller, The Misfits, The Demon, Chris Jericho, Raven and The Flock all kept me watching during the Monday Night Wars until Arquette won the belt, but I never went back to WWE. 3303 | Article | Hoju Koolander | It's great to hear you had such supportive parents, my Mom had to talk me through some tearful moments as well, when I couldn't understand why I was such a target for bullies. Obviously I know where you're coming from, but it never got this intense. Physical injuries? Moving out of state? I'm glad to hear that high school was fun and you were able to make it through. Seriously, you had some good folks. | Being Bullied | Feb 02, 2016 |
