4875 | Article | shakin steak | Fans of the first movie, look for the First Publishing graphic novel TMNT Volume IV. That collects the original comic book issues that were the basis for the film. There are scenes with the thrift store, Leonardo getting lost and beat up by the Foot Clan, April's family farm, Casey and Raph talking smack. Like most adaptations, the book takes more time, but is better than the movie! Check it out if you're so inclined. As for the space element, I agree about the Star Trek figures. Those were pretty lame. But overall, the series has a good relationship with outer-space style science fiction, if you would again go back to the Mirage/ Eastman and Laird comic books. The Triceratons were from another universe, and so were the TCRI guys that cartoon Krang was based on. There were many other story arcs besides those, that dealt with aliens and time travel. Speaking of time travel, some of the video game screenshots are from Turtles in Time which was the second arcade game, not mentioned in the text. Anyway. Not to be too critical. Great article! I always like to hear these personal memories and that counts more than anything. | Mar 03, 2019
5486 | Article | Julie | Fantastic article by the way, my sweet @Benjanime.❤❤ I remember having this gem on one of those official demo CDs that came with the PlayStation. And yeah, I played Wild 9 many times this way as it's one of the most fun games from that time. It's easy to notice that the idea for Wild 9 came from the two-dimensional experiences with the Earthworm Jim series, which by the way was a huge success for its charisma, fun, character attitude and "cell animation" technology bringing many animation frames. The idea is innovative, fun and the game is enjoyable to play. The PlayStation received many important games throughout its commercial life but luckily, those nostalgic and unforgettable games magazines of the time brought all the game releases, and Wild 9 was one of the highlights, becoming a desirable game. Once again, my congratulations for the article always filled with unique charisma, nostalgia and always very well written, captivating those who read it. ;) | Wild 9: A Forgotten Shiny Classic | Aug 31, 2021
4034 | Article | mickyarber | Fantastic article man. Sadly, all of my relatives cleaned out all their "junk" years ago. And on another subject, PM me your address and I'll send you a couple of packs of those old Topps cards, unopened, so you can enjoy that smell of the gum one more time! | Raiders of the Lost Toys | Jul 31, 2017

4948 | Article | jkatz | Felix the Cat looks like it would be a lot of fun! The changes in Guevara/Guerilla don't surprise me at all. Bionic Commando removed all references to Hitler and the nazis for the US release (but kept his exploding head!) | Underrated NES Games | Jun 01, 2019

39 | Article | Vaporman87 | Few games capture my undivided attention to the point of spending hours on them anymore. However, the Mass Effect trilogy was an exception. | Thousand Arms (1999) Review | Dec 11, 2012
1838 | Video | Vaporman87 | Few movies can creep you out the way Poltergeist can. It doesn't need torture or gore to do the job. Just a house, a medium, a TV, and a family. Why Tobe Hooper didn't have much success after this and Texas Chainsaw Massacre eludes me. | Poltergeist | Jan 26, 2015
4789 | Article | Ravenloft | Few took ninja mania as far as my twin brother and I. Shadow Warrior Ninja Brothers! I am still Storm Shadow to his Snake Eyes. He has betrayed our ninja secrets in his article to you. You have been marked for death. Always the athletic and agile kids we would scale telepole poles, run on wooden fences, climb up on roofs of multiple story buildings, leap treacherous gaps, climb over razor and barbed wire and other dangerous stunts that as an adult can only make me cringe at the possible injuries we could have had. Astonishing to think I never broke any bones (ahem, that were mine anyway.) The old style metal, concrete and wooden playgrounds were our ninja training camps like in the ninja movies and we learned the very real consequences of any fall. Far from the so called ninja tv shows that have safety foam pits and water to break your falls that are on today. We were doing Parkour a solid decade before it had a name or a popular following. He failed to mention that we spray painted the ropes on the home-made swords so they would be stiff and not come unraveled ever. I have never seen ninja children running around with real weapons the way we did as kids, maybe there were some and they had good training to remain unseen the way we did or maybe we were the last or only ninjas- a recurring ninja theme that is highly inaccurate; as the Hollywood pop culture version of the ninja is still going strong despite all of the imaginary and historically inaccurate elements. Ninja are so ubiquitous that they have become an archtype for play or Halloween costumes joining such other archtypes as the astronaut, cowboy, soldier, knight, superhero or finally the ninja. | Revenge of the Imaginary Ninjas! | Jan 13, 2019
4632 | Article | vkimo | Finally got a chance to sit down and take a look at this gem! Rocky Point sounds like a awesome spot! In California we didn't have much for spooky haunts save for the Winchester Mystery House - but PA seems to have dozens. I'd like to see a picture of your house decorated. | NLogan's Retro Halloween Anticipation | Oct 23, 2018 |
