1221 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Yeah, the "prequel" show, "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" had a teacher as the protagonist and the kids as side characters. I guess the producers figured Mark-Paul Gosselar had more charisma than Hayley "Parent Trap" Mills and they were right! | Sep 10, 2014
1222 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I had the same make-up application dilemma when I went as Gene Simmons from KISS to a Halloween party in high school. Keeping the black and white face paint separate was a real chore. That's awesome that you got so much use out of your Saloon Girl costume. Zombie Saloon Girl would make a good companion to an undead steampunk adventurer. | Saloon Girl | Sep 10, 2014
1223 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Man, that totally happened to me. This was my own personal "The Crying Game" moment.I remember switching on MTV, seeing this "hot chick" playing keyboards and feeling my hormones rev. Then the next day at school I heard someone talking about those "Hanson brothers that sing Mmm-Bop" and it blew my mind. Glad to know I wasn't alone in my confusion, haha. | Hanson MMMBopped Their Way Into Our Lustful Hearts | Sep 10, 2014
1230 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Guess I should have gotten on board sooner and maybe I could have earned back a bit of my childhood by writing about it. Ah well, I probably couldn't get my son to keep that mask on his face anyway. | Halloween Hallelujah! | Sep 10, 2014
1243 | Article | Hoju Koolander | pikachulover, too bad your Mom couldn't figure out the Gadget costume, that would have been pretty awesome. Cool that she put the custom Witch outfit together for you though. Vaporman87, from your question I'm assuming you were not in any plays growing up. Spirit Gum is old school glue used in the theater to attach fake beards, mustaches and prosthetics to your face with. It's like rubber cement for your face, so it sticks really well and you have to use rubbing alcohol or a dissolving solution to get it off. | A Little Witchy | Sep 15, 2014
1253 | Article | Hoju Koolander | A haunted Circus would actually be pretty frightening and I think I could get some mileage out of a corn maze (more of a novelty to us "city Folk" I guess). I grew up in Southern California but never made it out to Knott's Scary Farm on Halloween. I hear it was pretty awesome getting chased by all the creepers. | Houses of Haunt | Sep 16, 2014
1254 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Nice article. Pictures are always nice, but this is one of those unforgettable sensations you can instantly recall without them. Seeing the plastic bag poke out from behind the Rice Krispies or Cheerios was a real treat. One of my favorite cereal prizes was a similar sticky creature, I think it was called a Wacky Wall-Crawler. This one was in the shape of an Octopus. I just remember the grossness mixed with coolness of that item and the joy that lasted all of 2 minutes until it got carpet fuzz all over it. | The Cereal Incident | Sep 16, 2014
1255 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I think what really gave Are You Afraid of the Dark the edge over Goosebumps aside from its more cerebral scares, was it's time slot. The placement at the end of SNICK programming on a Friday night around 9:30pm was perfect for that "late night" ghost story feel, while Goosebumps was on at 4pm in the afternoon. Hard to get scared when the sun is out and birds are chirping just outside your window. | 90's Vs: Goosebumps vs Are You Afraid of the Dark | Sep 16, 2014
1260 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Wow, this was a very extensive look at the fashion of my Junior High and High School days. I can see why it won the contest. I definitely remember all those giant patent leather shoes and glittery blue nail polish on the girls in my class. The Sanrio popularity in my town fizzled out by 1992 or so, but I was a Keroppi fan in 5th grade for sure! | 1995 & 1996 Fashion Trends (90's Girl Fashion) | Sep 16, 2014
1265 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Great topic for an article. That Samurai Iron Man looks like a turquoise Deadpool. Oh I remember the disappointment of that New Adventures of He-Man toy line and cartoon. In retrospect it was my first experience with a re-boot where they sucked all the magic out of the characters. They might as well have called it "The Adventures of Generic Space Adventure Guy". | The Curse of the Variant | Sep 17, 2014 |
