3834ArticleVaporman87I can think of no other musical concert that was so popular and watched by as many people. It was all anyone talked about, at least as it pertained to music or musicians. Apr 23, 2017View
3835ArticleVaporman87Ahh. So I'm guessing Marvel's dislike for the character spawned a name change to Miracle Man? There are so many great characters from the early days of comics that haven't seen the light of day in decades. My wife once purchased me a book that listed some of the worst comic villains ever created, and many of them were from comics I'd never heard of from the 50's. 3837ArticleVaporman87I remember often thinking how dumb looking the Attack Trak was in the cartoon. Instead of the wicked red ATV style vehicle it was, the cartoon portrayed it as a giant blue box with a window in front. And not only that, it would talk and even get snarky. LOL. I recall seeing a storybook that had someone riding the Road Ripper... in the air! LOL. As if it was a flying vehicle. Catalog Pages: Masters of the Universe from 1985Apr 23, 2017View
3838ArticleVaporman87Actually Mickey, that Fantastic Four film was NEVER intended to be released. That's why it never was. It was only made in order for the Marvel license to be kept by the studio (apparently some kind of stipulation in the agreement). There is a whole documentary on the film. Hoju can give you any and all details on The Shadow. He loves the movie. I remember going to see that Jason movie. I can even remember that my best friend and I left the theater and went straight to Hardee's afterward. Why I remember that, I don't know. And yes, The Stand was a stellar mini-series. I remember in college it was a huge event. We all gathered around the TV in our apartment every night it was on to catch the show.Andy Mangels Hollywood Heroes From May 1993Apr 23, 2017View
3840ArticleVaporman87You know, maybe I'm wrong and remember things incorrectly, but it seems like that even though nowadays comic book heroes are the cat's meow for everyone on Earth, the amount of promotional material using their likenesses is actually not as prevalent. 3842ArticleVaporman87Here's something you can fact check on the internet; the county I live in (Meigs) is notorious for "Meigs County Gold (or Green)"... or marijuana for those a bit confused. Even people in other states had heard of Meigs County's abundance of Mary Jane (why that is I don't want to know). So naturally we were routinely shovel fed a steady dose of anti-drug seminars in school. Typically this was a group of former dopeheads putting the fear of the almighty in you. Now look at this nation. We're legalizing the stuff. Go figure.Retro Culture of FearApr 23, 2017View
3847ArticleVaporman87So this question now comes to mind: Stronger? Vibranium or Adamantium?Wolverine a Reader's Perspective Part 11Apr 23, 2017View
3850ArticleVaporman87Ahhh... nevermind. I found the answer. I seems, at least in Captain America's shield's case, it wins out. Wolverine a Reader's Perspective Part 11Apr 23, 2017View
3871ArticleVaporman87It's fun to see how far the evolution of Nerd acceptance has come from the '80s to now. But it certainly does have it's roots in '80s cinema and the effects of that on our culture. The 1980s: When Nerds Became CoolMay 02, 2017View
