After The Simpsons first aired in local syndication in 1994, the contract said that it won't start airing on cable TV until after the show ended. A lot has changed since then, and now, they're finally annulling what they said about not putting it on cable... because, they're now bringing The Simpsons reruns to FXX. Not only that, but they're also expanding options for video-on-demand and online streaming.
I personally find this to be a great thing. This would mean that more of the classic episodes will start airing again... a huge change of pace from the same old Zombie Simpsons reruns that gets overplayed in syndication.
