I'm sure some of you that are my age and such, remember this great place called DZ Discovery Zone!? I say it was the playlands of all playlands. It unfortunately it didn't last. They filed for bankruptcy in 1996 and the last of its locations were gone by 1999. I went there a good few times when I was little. The location of the one I used to go to is now a Party City, and has been since it's closure. So, do any of you have good memories of going to Discovery Zone?
Here's a good article on DZ:

The article has some of the old TV advertisements they had. Excepted it doesn't have this one, another good one they used:

I grew up with 2 places like this there was a Discovery Zone on one side of town (Which last I checked is now a Dollar Tree) and on the other side of town was a place called FunScape which was connected to a movie theater (and last I saw was still blocked off however I think everything is still there) Both were fun and I can remember the zipline they had and letting go and falling into the ball pit below like I was Indiana Jones.

I have fond memories of going to Discovery Zone many times as a child. Several of those times were for my birthday. I enjoyed going through the tube maze a lot. It's too bad that Discovery Zone has closed since then. It was a fun place.

I vaguely remember it. There was like maybe one of those in my area. Didn't realize they tanked so soon though. Only lasted 3 years? Hmm. Could have sworn that place it was at stayed up longer than that. Unless I'm just getting really old.

There used to be one by the local mall. It got knocked down and turned into a gas station. By the time those came to my area I was pretty old and tall. I think I didn't see a DZ commercial for them locally until like 94 or 95.

This was my fave place as a little kid. The one here in town is a Chuck E Cheese now. (No clue why but that place creeps me out)

I went to the Discovery Zone a bunch. It got popular right after my parents divorced so it was sort of a fun spot my mom and grandma would take me whenever I came to visit. Sadly, I don't recall much other than that giant roller slide.
