...for the first time in a long time and I started with Episode I and here is my thoughts so far as someone who made it through Episodes I-III...:
1. Episode I, I still really enjoyed and I think it's the best of the Prequels and the only movie of the trilogy that has the complete spirit of the OT. Yes, it's a little hokey, there is some bad dialogue, Jar Jar Binks has a major role in the movie (who I never found annoying and I actually loved as a kid), and I can see how Jake Lloyd's acting as Anakin bothered some older fans, but the movie still holds up visually and has an excellent score and the Pod Race and the final fight between Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul is incredible and the main highlights of the movie.
2. Episode II, I didn't enjoy so much rewatching it. The CGI and green screen effects of the movie are just very dated and I don’t like that it wasn’t shot on film like Episode I was. The romance scenes…oh my goodness…there were so many of them and the hokeyness of Episode I was took to a whole new level in this movie. The Battle Of Geonosis was still entertaining though as was the final fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin and Yoda vs. Count Dooku and the music is stellar as always. Overall, it’s way worse than Episode I (which I still love) for me though.
3. Episode III, I liked and was a HUGE IMPROVEMENT over Episode II and Hayden Christensen's performance as Anakin was much better in this movie than in Episode II...BUT I still feel the movie suffers from some of the issues as Episode II does like some bad romance scenes, some dated green screen and CGI effects (even though visually, it's a HUGE IMPROVEMENT over Episode II) and bad writing like the "HIGH GROUND." But overall, it's a good movie and definitely WAY BETTER than Episode II. But Episode I holds more nostalgia in my heart because it was the first Star Wars movie I ever saw in theaters and brings me back to the Y2K Era of movies...
...Yeah, just kidding...Episode II and the Prequels are STILL AMAZING and just as good as the Originals...in a different way. It's the Disney Trilogy I have an issue with.
