OK, someone around here is asking for a New Pink Panther Movie . . . and it ain't me!

I have to confess I've never gotten into the Pink Panther. He's one of those cartoon characters that always seem to come across as flat and dull. Having grown up with Warner Bros. cartoons kinda spoils anything else on offer.

I remember the Pnk Panther from the opening credits from the 1963 movie, but I was more impressed by the musical theme than the Pink Panther.

By 1965, the stage was set for the Saturday Morning  Superhero Revolution, featuring the upstart Filmation against veteran Hanna-Barbera. And things really heated up to the point that CBS and ABC dominated SatAM - meanwhile, NBC had htched their wagon to DePattie/Freleng who offered The Pink Panther followed by more Pink Panther.

The Pink Panther Show was fine for little kids, but I was a strapping 12 year old watching Superman, Batman, Fantastic Voyage, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Pink Panther seemed more like baby stuff to me.

The Pink Panther series is one of my absolute favorite animated TV shows.  I own the series on DVD and Blu-Ray.

I'm so glad you spoke up. My opinions should never sway a real fan of any TV show. NBC ran with The Pink Panther for almost ten years, that's quite a run for any television series.

While the network Panther didn't speak, when Pink Panther went to syndication he was talking by the 1990's.The talking Pink Panther was a cartoon on a whole different level from the 1968 version.

Here's the two intros for the talking Pink Panther from 1993 and 1994:

Here is the Pink Panther versus Voodoo Man, one of his regular antagonists.

I'm still floored by the talking Pink Panther from 1993.

Shocking Pink

Pink Panther wants to relax, but the British-accented narrator keeps getting him to get up and work.

Fun Fact:

The Pink Panther YouTube channel has 21.8 million subscribers.

Blake Edwards would be so proud.

The silent Pink Panther is waay more classic and I love the laugh track! This is an excellent post MM.
