I was listening last night to the BBC, via KUOW/Seattle, when an old man began telling a story - I never knew about this, until last night.

In the summer of 1968, he was walking along a street in London when a strange woman approached him. She asked, "do you like music, do you like to sing?". When he answered in the affirmative, she then offered him a free ticket to a Beatles recording session at Twickenham Studios, filming date of 4 September, 1968. Each ticket holder would be asked to join the Beatles in singing the chorus of a new song.

Around London, many other people were also given tickets and asked to join the Beatles and sing live for a recording that would be broadcast on Sir David Frost's Sunday television show.

Guys, I'm absolutely floored by all this! Imagine inviting ordinary people into a broadcast studio to sing with a popular band, and record everything as a promo for a new song.
