Hope you guys don't mind but I ran across my old friend the Bird Lady again today, so I want to repost the music video she walks through, Adiemus.

By 1994, composer Karl Jenkins created a series of new age musical albums under the name Adiemus.

Adiemus refers to the assembled Choir and Orchestra. Adiemus is also the title of the opening track from the first album, "Songs of Sanctuary" - 1994.

So, the paired name of the performers and their song is: Adiemus - Adiemus

It is a real joy for me to travel through time with you guys!  laugh

Did Enya sing in this song?

I knew I've heard this somewhere before I definitely recognize it. But could never place a name. Now I can! Thanks. Their music reminds me a lot of what Dead Can Dance does. You familiar with that group? It has the same sort of aestetic to it.

When I first heard Adiemus I was so sure it was Enya as lead singer. But it turns out that the actual lead singers form a duo of Miriam Stockley (South Africa) and Mary Carewe (Great Britain).

The Adiemus Choir was an assembly that gathered, both for live concerts and recorded albums, in a variety of venues from concert halls to school gymnasiums.

Karl Jenkins could adapt his musical scores for local bands or scale-up to a full Philharmonic Orchestra.

Adiemus came to my attention in 1994 because it was used by Delta Air Lines in their television advertising. I had never heard anything quite like it at the time. For a brief moment, Delta Air Lines got plenty of recognition from the public.

After the release of the first album, "Songs of Santuary", Karl Jenkins wasted no time taking Adiemus on the road around the world. Concerts were performed in venues large and small. Adiemus appeared live in a PBS televised concert in the USA, as well as BBC broadcasts in the UK.

Thanks for introducing me to Dead Can Dance. Been checking out a few videos since your last reply!
