I was just watching the original version and it got me thinking "While the CGI may be beautiful, does the remake itself hold a candle to the original?"

eh, i'm probably one of the few that prefers the original handdrawn designs (and the original voice actors as well). but i can definitely see some effort here.

I wonder what Pikachu's Vacation looks like. If they remade it.

I prefer the original as well. I like the hand drawn animation. But also just because it represented a great time. Not just for the Pokemon franchise but everything else it was connected to. The VHS opening is among my favorite VHS opening's of all time. All the cool promos and content that was out at the time.

You're right. The movie did represent a great time. I don't remember much about the VHS. The last time I saw it on VHS was when it first came out.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Pokemon movie based on an episode.

All I need is just one picture, and I'm right back in all the excitement as we were all falling to the end of the old century, and the new wonders we would see in the next century.

Yes, I really should've known better, but being able to reach back and experience the excitement of greeting a new century will sustain me for the rest of my days.
