The science fiction highway is a bit deceiving. Everyone thinks it has a starting point but the truth is the sci-fi highway has no begining, and no end.



A personal milestones happened when I left home to attend college at Arizona State University. In one of life's coincidences, I befriended the Dean of Media Studies who wasted no time introducing me to some of his favorite movies.





All at once, the pieces of the strange images I remember from childhood began to form a clear path on that sci-fi highway. I would like to share one of the great moments in cinema that forms a large part in the story of science fiction.



The key to this movie is the color shift. The scenes that represent Heaven are all in Black & White. The scenes in Real Life are all in Color! Also note the amazing cast of characters - one of the great movies of the 20th century!



From the end of WWII comes a movie that combines adventure, romance and the spiritual. Time to expand your definition of Sci-fi!
