Rick Ace Rhodes

New Jack passed away today at the age of 58 from a heart attack. For those that don't remember him, he was one of the most controversial wrestlers in existence. So controversial that even WWE wouldn't touch him.

He became one of the major stars of ECW. Throughout his career he was invovled in several controversial incidents, most notably the Mass Transit incident in 1996. Last year his controversial career was chronicled in an episode of Vice's Dark Side of the Ring.

He jumped off balconies and put guys through tables! He was a class-A nut!

Just the other day, I watched him in a Smokey Mountain Wrestling match. He was in a tag team match against the Rock n Roll Express and he was wrestling normally! Go figure!

That was hardcore wrestling back in the day. I don't think people today would even be able to handle the watered down stuff that WWE put on.

When ECW's weekly program was brought back in 2006, I got so excited, but I started losing interest when it wasn't as hardcore as it once was.

Hardcore wrestling just isn't popoular anymore. It was more or less a fad, peaking with ECW in the 90's. People now want the normal stuff.
