So, when it comes to Punch Out, I usually lean towards the original arcade version simply titled Punch Out. That version I grew up with and knew more than the more famous home port Mike Tyson's Punch Out (which almost immediately after release stole what little thunder the arcade version had left instantly pushing the arcade version into a line of games that have home ports more known than their original arcade versions such as Tank/Combat, Contra, and Ninja Gaiden). When I was 14, I got a video game history book I loved so much and read the s*** out of. In one part, I learned about Mike Tyson's Punch Out and my thought immediately went to "Cool! I didn't know Nintendo made a game where Mike Tyson bites off your ear!" (At the time I only knew of Mike Tyson from that infamous boxing match against Holyfield so that's why I thought what I did). I did eventually play the Mike Tyson home port and was very disappointed to find out he does not bite your ear off sadly. I have since stuck with the unsung arcade version whenever I can find that
