During the holiday season broadway plays were adapted for television broadcast, sometimes starring the original broadway cast in the roles they made famous.

Carol Burnett starred as Princess Winnifred, in the television adaptation of, "Once Upon A Mattress", in 1964, again in 1972 and as Queen Aggravain in the 2005 version with Tracey Ullman.
