Seeing how Nintendo hasn't been putting much of an effort into releasing their own classic games as they used to, I thought it would make more sense to make a post towards Sega's classic game releases in the form of SEGA AGES on the Nintendo Switch. A bevy of arcade and Master system ports will be part of it, all with exclusive features, such as the arcade "Mega Play" version of Sonic the hedgehog that had a competitive level completion timer, an option to never lose rings and a level select. More games are on the way with Virtua Racing, Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd and Space Harrier being some examples, but fans on Twitter have requested other system titles like Panzer Dragoon and Skies of Arcadia. What Sega classics in the SEGA AGES series would you like to see appear on the Switch?

I'd like to see Sonic Adventure released as part of it. That game, I played on the Gamecube, and if the PC version is anything to go by, I have a feeling that the Gamecube version is what they would use. Although, the option for playing the Dreamcast version would be nice as well.

It sounds like this is individual games for download only. Is that right? Or are they making a cartridge collection version?

they're digital download only, however the sega genesis classics collection that recently released on ps4 and xbox one will be getting a holiday release on the switch, though sonic 3 & knuckles will be left out. Nintendo Network ID: Benjamillion

it looks like dreamcast games have more of a chance of showing up than sega saturn games, but that's fine for me. maybe we'll get to see power stone on there. Nintendo Network ID: Benjamillion

the original phantasy star has released in japan for the switch and coming to the north american eshop with a december 13th date. the AGES version comes with a reworked difficulty system for more casual gameplay and a newly added map function for the dungeons. what do you think about revisiting this classic rpg/dungeon crawler? I just realized Sega Ages is spelled the same way forwards and backwards. Boy, do I feel dumb.
And I'm not sure how I feel about re-releasing old games with "reworked" difficulty. As long as the original version is freely available I have no problems with it. I don't like the idea of only a revised version being the only option. The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.
