Antz in my opinion takes a more serious tone, has deeper meaning and symbolism behind it. While A Bugs Life is a lot more colorful, takes a classic story telling approach and is just more funnier throughout.

So I notice in the comments sections of YouTube videos regarding this two film, there's always people debating which one is better. What are you thoughts on this? Quote Disable Sigs *Insert funny signature here*

Both have their strong points.
Hard to say which one stands out. "Magic can happen to you."

Rick Ace Rhodes wrote :I do prefer Antz, the termite scene alone gives it the edge. As you said, it has deeper meaning and symbolism behind it with the main character having an existential crisis. A Bug's Life is very light on story, Flik's only real character trait is that he is clumsy. |

echidna64 wrote :The termite scene is great, probably one of the best scenes from a 90's film. I love the dialogue between Z and Barbatus leading into the battle: Z: So these... these termites... their... their... these guys are not going to put up much of a fight right? I mean, we're talking about pushovers right? Barbatus: Not really kid. Their five times our size, and they shoot acid from their foreheads. *Z stops walking in horror at what he just heard* But I wouldn't go so far as to say that Flik had only a one real character trait. I think he is very similar to Hercules from the 97 Disney film: He's a good hearted person that want's to get on the right side of his community. He's destructive when all he tries to do is help. He doesn't feel like he belongs, and all he wants is to be liked by the people around him. *Insert funny signature here*

I can't say because I haven't watched either of them in a long time. The strange thing is that I remember thinking they were both good movies when I first watched them, but I never had the urge to watch them over and over again like I do with other movies from the '90s. I think it has to do with the fact that I've never liked bugs that much.

I'd like to get both movies someday.
