Has anybody here ever played Shovel Knight? It's a retro style 2D platformer that takes a lot of the best elements that we've seen in NES games (IE. Ducktales, Castlevania, Mega Man, Zelda 2, etc), and merged them and added their own unique style of this game. It's really phenomenal. I got the game for the Wii U a few years ago, and decided to repurchase the game for the Switch. It's that good. Plus, the Switch version includes all three campaign modes (the main campaign, Shovel of Hope, Plague of Shadows, and the newest campaign, Specter of Torment.
If you haven't played Shovel Knight, you're missing out. I know the whole 2D classic style game is sort of becoming old hat when it comes to indie games, but this is one Yauct Club Games did a fantastic job on. It might actually be one of the best side-scrolling platformers I've ever played... and yes, I'm including retro gaming with that as well.
Also, it was Kickstarter funded, and one of the few where the final product fully delivered. Unlike Mighty No 9 and Yooka-Laylee.
