After a lifetime in the entertainment business, 1976 saw Bob Hope begin the slow exit from the limelight to his final years with his family. Bob Hope made no secret that his time was passing.
But Bob was not alone.
It was obvious to everyone that many of the great names in entertainment, people who had a hand in shaping the new medium of television after WWII, were also facing the final curtain call.
"Joys" - A Murder/Comedy Special from 1976 was one of many Bob Hope specials where Bob, and fifty of his closest friends, got to say farewell in style.
The plot: some of the most famous comedians in television are invited to a party at Bob Hopes mansion. But an uninvited guest, a man in black, murders each celebrity, one by one, and dumps the dead bodies in the pool. By the end of the 90-minute special you can't see the water for the Stars, lol!
Note: this was the last appearance of Groucho Marx on television, at the request of his longtime friend George Burns.
Forgive the poor upload but this is the only posting I've ever seen online.
