I myself am working on two different Spider-Man articles and a SpongeBob article. I think I might also try and get out the second half of my Super Bowl article that I started last year.

So I got a gaming laptop as a present over the holidays and only recently had the opportunity to actually get it out of the box and set it up.
I stayed up all of last night playing Batman: Arkham Origins. I had so much fun I almost forgot to feel ashamed...almost.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

Perhaps Vince learned a thing or two since the XFL fiasco, and with the extra time to prep, he can make a decent alternative.

Today is the 10 year anniversary of my first video game review, and that's on Krusty's Super Fun House. Man, where the hell has the time gone. I remember when I originally uploaded this as a submission for a Youtube contest by AGentertainment for the Angry Video Game Nerd Volume 1 DVD. Needless to say, I didn't win the contest, nor was I even one of the finalists. But I did enjoy making this video at the time, which is why I continued making more video game reviews.

By the way, here's a fun fact that I never revealed up until now, Kirby Super Star was originally going to be my first review. But because the review was required to be about 7 minutes for the contest, and I went over time as I was working on the video, then I scrapped that, and proceeded to review Krusty's Super Fun House instead, as that was one of those crappy games that I liked as a kid, but dislike as I grew older. Kirby Super Star would end up being the second game I would review. Looking back at this video, some of the aspects of the review did have some nit-picky elements, such as the inclusion of the suicide button, and how Krusty can't stomp on the rats. Also, even though it wasn't supposed to be an AVGN clone review, some of the points used sounded like something AVGN would say. Perhaps I should have gone with a good game, but what's done is done.

When I started doing more reviews, one of the goals that I set was that I wanted the videos to be more of a semi-professional quality. If you went on Youtube back in 2008, you'd see a lot of videos people would post are from low quality webcams with the videos edited in Windows Movie Maker. Seeing as I already had some experience taking digital video and broadcasting classes in high school, it helped bring some inspiration for my channel. One thing I tried to make sure to do is come up with my own style, where I wouldn't be a complete AVGN clone. Also, I try my best not to fall to much as the level of other crappy reviewers. The Irate Gamer comes to mind.

Now, that's not to say these videos didn't have their issues. One common criticism I've received, minus that ear piercing intro music I used throughout the first season, was that some of the videos didn't really constitute as real reviewing. Looking back at them, there are certain games I reviewed, such as Kirby Super Star, Punch-Out, and Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, where I could have gone into more detail. Part of that was due to Youtube's 10 minute time limit at the time (which is part of why I would upload them to Gameular, before going on Youtube, as that had unlimited time). There's also certain games that I reviewed, such as Super Punch-Out, where I facepalm at some of the things I would say rewatching them.

After around 2010 or so, my channel was starting to go through a bit of a slow period, where I'd have times where I wouldn't upload anything in months, and when I would attempt to try to resurrect my channel, and work to upload more consistently, it would end up backfiring. I made my first video under the Season 2 format around 2010, when I uploaded my review of Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth. Around 2011, I tried to fully bring back the series with reviews of Wario's Woods, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Arcade Essentials. Arcade Essentials was my final review, and that was in editing limbo for about six-seven months after I began filming and editing. Some people believed that I quit due to trolls and haters, and that isn't true. Doesn't matter what channel you're running, you're always going to get people hating on your videos. The real reason I stopped making videos was because my drive of making videos was not really there. I ended up feeling overwhelmed trying to keep up my channel, and I stopped after a while.

There's a number of aspects as to why that is, but a lot of it has to do with motivation. I pretty much lost the drive I had of making videos, which is partially why there was a year long game inbetween my reviews for Rudolph and Arcade Essentials. Another aspect of that is that I haven't been in the most mentally healthy state. Not to go too much into detail on that, but long story short, I've been dealing with mental health issues, and that ended up taking a toll on certain things, including making Youtube videos.

Now, with that said, would I ever consider resurrecting my channel? Yes, it is something I have wanted to do. If it were to happen, then it would need to be revamped. I do have some ideas for how I'd want it to be revamped. But if I were to bring it back, then I would need to make sure I'm uploading videos consistently with no falling behind. One person I know, who really wants me to bring back my channel, suggested a schedule. That could help. There was even one point, a year or so after I uploaded my last review, in which I did plan a set of five games to review, and upload those on a weekly basis while I continued to make more, but that got scrapped. Still, I'm not sure how much I can commit to my channel. Only other thing I could think of is if I had my own crew, but I'm not sure if there's anyone I know that would be willing to do that.

Still, seeing as I'm going to be earning a degree in digital video, then bringing back this channel would be great for that. Especially seeing as how retro gaming has become more in style than ever before. I also would need to invest in equipment, such as a DSLR camera, as the HDV camera that I used in the last videos I made doesn't work that well anymore. While my channel might not grow that much if I were to get back into it, there are some people, both online and those I know in real life, who really wants me to start making videos again, and that's something I am willing to consider.
