41125 | The Art of Manliness: Movies Every Millennial Dad Should Introduce to His Kids | Yeah, I meant it would be good as a cautionary tale for her. | vkimo | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |
41124 | A different kind RetroDaze meetup | That kind of depends, if I drive I'd probably have to do 2 nights, if I flew in, I could stay 3 nights. I know we're in the planning phase, but even a camping trip would be awesome with you guys. I think NLogan would be a great leader for Troop Beverly Hills | vkimo | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |
41123 | Death Wish franchise | The first two are solid. After that they become like a live action McBain movie.(Not that that's a bad thing, I'm just saying). | jkatz | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |

I saw the magazine on the racks at the convenience store where I went to buy candy bars and Mad Magazine. As for the movie, that was earlier, at a friend's house during a sleepover. He was asleep and I was channel flipping on cable TV (which we didn't have in my house). I stopped on some unfamiliar animation... probably on TBS... it was right at the beginning of the Taarna story when the general rose out of the mud. I was about ten years old. I was fascinated of course. And I never knew what it was, until five or six years later, when I saw Heavy Metal The Movie for sale at Sam Goody, and bought it because I knew I liked the magazine. Imagine my surprise and joy when I saw that cybernetic hand reach up from the muck again...
| shakin steak | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |

41117 | A different kind RetroDaze meetup |
Cool! Yeah, sometime during Summer would be perfect. It’s not too hot in May, but by July it can get pretty toasty. Still, it just depends on getting a set of dates that can work for as many of us as possible.

I wondered if doing a three night stay is possible for anybody, or if sticking to two was best
| Vaporman87 | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |
41116 | A different kind RetroDaze meetup | I like this idea. While Retrocon is cool, lapping around a venue multiple times a day gets boring after a while. This would be cool to do. Next summer should be perfect for me. | ThatDudeintheHoodie | Oct 24, 2018 | ![]() |
