50203	Norman Lear died	<p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/37/23/03/372303ed6f7ca736a99373af1b720eb6.jpg" /></p> <p>Norman Lear's iconic series, "All in the Family", has a TV Trivia question that trips people up, "When was the first broadcast episode of All in the Family?".</p> <p>Most answer January 1971.</p> <p>As I recall, CBS was concerned over public reaction to Norman Lear's new television show, so a "sneak preview" advanced airing of All in the Family happened just before Christmas 1970, that way viewers wouldn't get hit with the show, "cold turkey".</p> <p>I was in junior high school in 1970 and the effect All in the Family had on my classmates was amazing. Everyone in school, including my teachers, was talking about this new show when classes resumed after the winter holiday break.
