I miss having a physical job. But I haven't been able to find one that can pay the bills lately!
-end quote
I work with a moving company. In the summer I will walk several miles a day just in stairs. I've been able to eat pretty badly and not look like it, but I definitely feel it. Hoping to clean up my act and avoid pointless "bored" eating. It's nice because the days never drag. Pay is alright ( I recently negotiated a raise) and there are tips. I also run a eBay store because the moving gig is definitely not enough to support my Yu-Gi-Oh habit.vkimoMar 03, 2019View

Keep up the good work. -end quote

Thanks man. The egg thing was kind of a breakthrough, but I've been doing other things too. I've cut way down on pasta and alcohol.

I read a book by Ray Kurzweil called TRANSCEND. I usually think he sucks. Like most "futurists" he basically writes science fiction, except with no plot, message, or characterization. That kind of writing is pretty worthless to me. But reading the synopsis of this book, it sounded useful so I got it. TRANSCEND stands for:

Talk with your doctor

Relaxation

Assessment

Nutrition Supplementation

Calorie Reduction

Exercise

New technologies

Detoxification

Now I feel like I'm pretty good at relaxation. And also exercise, not in a formal way but I am more active than a lot of people. New technologies (this refers to stem cell therapy and I think cryogenics) are very expensive. And the biggest part I got from detox was to drink tea every day, which I can and should do, but it requires a habit change. I don't drink coffee and never have so this is a routine I want to develop, but it is a challenge.

However. Calorie reduction has been very workable for me. I've replaced most of my pasta with vegetables and unproecssed grains like freekeh and barley. Portion control was a little tough in the beginning, but I got used to it and was able to cut down there as well. Just eating smaller amounts. I've been doing that for some years but have now extended the practice further. And I've replaced a meal here and there with an apple and an ounce of peanuts or almonds. Yet I still get cheese and meat and bread. Maybe in smaller amounts but still enjoyable.

I don't remember if mentioned in this thread before but I also quit smoking a couple of years ago.

I'm happy to share strategies or support fellow retro heads if I can.
<img src="http://retro-daze.org/uploads/07bd2b9cc185e87445efc1555454b3ab.jpg" "="">
I miss smoking and as much sugar and fat and booze as I used to consume but I think I'm also getting along pretty good. It can be done!shakin steakMar 03, 2019View

42222article comment length limit?
Like Ben said, it has something to do with special characters. For some reason, certain special characters will cause the comment to cut off at the point of the character.
Vaporman87Mar 02, 2019View
