| 49799 | Legacy Sequels | <p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d4/31/fe/d431fe13327ef57132b57905d0099de6.jpg" /></p> <p>In 1966, one of my favorite teachers in school said, "people who wallow in the past possess an immature mind". So here I am in 2023 repeating to everyone I know, "I want to remember the past, not relive it".</p> <p>I now realize that it's not the fault of the audience or franchise fans. It's the big studios and production companies that see money in telling the same stories, over and over.</p> <p>As a boy growing up in the 1960's I enjoyed all the magazine articles and TV shows predicting the 21st century. No one could have imagined the awful people heading major production companies in the entertainment industry. Greedy people who only know how to make money selling the same story again, and again.</p> <p>This horrible cycle of "sequels/reboots/prequels/remakes" must come to an end. | 49797 | Best Fighting Games | <p>The one I played the most was Eternal Champions on Genesis, which was kind of Sega's answer to Mortal Kombat. It had really cool lore, a great soundtrack and instead of fatalities each stage had a unique "overkill" that was always cool when you managed to trigger it. But I tried replaying it recently on and the fighting feels really stiff. | 49796 | Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire | <p>Looks like it might be cool. I really liked Skull Island and the first new Godzilla (which everyone seems to have thought was boring I guess?). But I skipped Godzilla vs Kong because King of the Monsters lost me at the end. | 49792 | Your favourite crappy old games | <p>Does anybody remember Treasures of the Deep on the first PlayStation? It was a submarine game. You start off by collecting old treasures but eventually end up fighting an international terrorist group.</p> <p>I played it a lot as a kid, and eventually found a copy of it when I was in college. It was a pretty hard game, I had to play with some cheat codes enabled.
