46045Cartoon "Sandwich" Time
Yeah, I know what you mean. The only difference between us is that I go all the way back to "King Leonardo and His Short Subjects" from 1960. This was another cartoon from Total Television, the same producers of "Under Dog".

The filler between the two King Leonardo cartoons was "The Hunter", of course I was so little that I didn't understand the dynamics between, "the fox & the hound", unlike the whole, "cat & mouse", plot that's way easier to understand.

Sure am glad these old cartoons are still around!

eddstarrAug 31, 2020View
46044Chadwick Boseman Dead at 43 of Colon Cancer
It is truly stunning to realize Chadwick's career peaked after his diagnosis of cancer. When I think about all Chadwick Boseman achieved, he certainly stands out from all the usual stars of entertainment, especially the ones who take their fame for granted.

Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman.

eddstarrAug 30, 2020View

46042What did you eat?
8 oz. sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and coleslaw from Applebee's.

About five minutes after our orders were placed, I ordered the Blue Ribbon Brownie. I thought the waitress was going to bring it to me right after I had my lunch in a container. But instead she brings it to me on a plate before I have my meal!
Mr MagicAug 29, 2020View

46039Cartoon "Sandwich" Time
I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how many shows have filler cartoons.

The Riff-Raff cartoon that always came on after the Heathcliff cartoon was usually amusing.

Mr MagicAug 29, 2020View

46036My Hometown

Benjanime wrote :
i kinda have a love/hate relationship with virginia, i grew up in the chesapeake area and made some great friends as i turned 8, but the crime rate that's happened over the years has left me with a distaste of returning there. currently i'm staying in the gloucester area, living near farmland and in a closed in culdesac with only a few houses close to mine, my family and i thought about moving back to ohio, or possibly tennessee where most of my mom's side of the family live.

-end quote

Gotta tell ya Ben, when I go back home the whole area has really fallen down. My old neighborhood died years ago. What you might find interesting is all the planning by Norfolk city officials to energize the civilian parts of town - some of which started back in the mid-60's!

Back in 1970 when Military Circle Mall opened, local and state government wanted to stop the typical pattern of dying cities where young people leave, crime gets out of control, and people with money run to wealthier areas like the Virginia Beach Hilltop area.

What no one wants is the fate of Military Circle Mall to spread to the entire city.

eddstarrAug 29, 2020View
