| 46427 | Retrospective - The Thing - 1982 | <p>How does that old saying go: "hindsight is 20/20"?</p> <p>"The Thing" had to air in the shadow of "ET", and I still wonder what would have happened if the movie had aired in May instead of June. Guess the production schedule is like a game of dominos, bump one film release and they all fall over.</p> <p>Gotta love a film that actually gets more interesting with repeated viewings. The effects are great, the story contains all kinds of little details you might miss if you aren't paying attention. Carpenter really did go above and beyond on this film.</p> <p>I sometimes wonder where his career would have gone had the film not bombed upon release. I'll have to buy a USB Card reader since I need a SD Card for work.</p> <p>I'm going to have my mom's friend come over this week and help me get all my files off my old computer.
