| 51204 | Spirit Halloween | <p>“Archie's TV Funnies” featured Dick Tracy segments notable for including all the characters from the newspaper comic strip of the 1970's. Tess and Sam, Junior and Moon Maid, Gravel Gertie and B.O. Plenty. No other TV show carried the entire roster of Dick Tracy characters.</p><figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:228/242;" src="https://i.pinimg.com/236x/08/c2/cc/08c2cc863b6fd3052e010a084c51b772.jpg" width="228" height="242"></figure><p>Feels like Halloween just watching Tracy go after Flattop.</p><figure class="media"><div data-oembed-url="https://youtu.be/xvTzRBsLodo?si=oBxeh7gmKjCV_aK0"><div><div style="left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 75%;"><iframe src="//if-cdn.com/9V8M0vBC" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no" allow="accelerometer *; clipboard-write *; encrypted-media *; gyroscope *; picture-in-picture *; web-share *;"></iframe></div></div></div></figure> | eddstarr | Oct 25, 2025 | ![]() |

| 51195 | Superman Movies | <p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/736x/74/ca/88/74ca8806fe129e95653d28593c0c8525.jpg" /></p> <p>Since 1938 Superman, including live-action and animated versions, has followed long standing storytelling traditions that go waay back historically. </p> <p>On the surface, Superman is the story of an orphaned alien who fell to Earth, and adopted us.</p> <p>Upon closer examination, these stories are actually not about Superman, but are about us, who we are as human beings. Are we worth saving? Are we even worth the trouble of? An alien finds value in planet Earth and it's inhabitants. But the question is different now, does Hollywood find value in the people of Earth?</p> <p>Modern entertainment seems more about naming and shaming, picking winners and losers. Actors must be the acceptable size, shape, color, gender; talent not necessary. A checklist only works when there is no love for ordinary people anymore.</p> <p>In this climate, Superman is a difficult story for Hollywood agenda projects.Dispite all the shortcoming, it's a miracle that James Gunn was able to complete his Superman movie at all. </p> <p>What's really lost here is the complexity of narrative superhero fans grew up with from Superman: The Animated Series.</p> <p><iframe frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JlshEvJ7A_4?si=WEMDLv6EElbVXvQ4" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/736x/1b/64/76/1b64768b9732d03fc3d0d3b8e1cc0ae2.jpg" /></p> | eddstarr | Oct 02, 2025 | ![]() |
