50243The Café
Sorry to hear that. I've witnesses the mental deteioration of several family members. Watching our heroes succumb to age is so incredibly difficult. I encourage you to keep on being supportive regardless. Those moments can be ruthlessly savage on emotional health but I choose to be unrelentingly compassionate so as to almost spite death.

A lot of people fear they will die a slow, protracted death but I'm confident mine will be swift as involving putting together a piece of Ikea furniture for my wife.

vkimoJan 01, 2024View
50242Violent Night
I was getting into it but then started dozing. Usually if a movie is good, I'll stay awake naturally but this had me nodding off. I really like the premise and will likely give it another shot earlier in the day.
vkimoJan 01, 2024View
50241The Café
My dad has been battling dementia for a few years, but today is the first day he absolutely did not know I was me. He thought I was a longtime friend of his named Jerry. He was talking about me, to me. Having to process this now. It's not unexpected, and yet I still feel blindsided by it.
Vaporman87Dec 31, 2023View
50240New Year 2024
And to make things worse, they opened a new Wawa at the end of town...and my wife's aunt gifted me a $10 giftcard.

Vaporman87 wrote :
I predict that lasts until the first week in February.

vkimo wrote :

As for New Years, hopefully I can keep a few resolutions like curbing my Wawa snack pitstops.

-end quote

-end quote

vkimoDec 31, 2023View

50238Show off your retro things!
I bought another toy I used to have during childhood.

A Gizmoduck cereal prize. I think it was from a box of Corn Flakes. Good Lord, I was only a toddler when I had the other one lol

I tell ya, if it weren't for internet shopping, I probably wouldn't have childhood things in my hands again.

Mr MagicDec 30, 2023View
50237New Year 2024
New Year's Day always gets me thinking about the "Acme Push-Button House of the Future".

eddstarrDec 30, 2023View
50236Merry Christmas
It's interesting whenever someone mentions, "Coloforms". My earliest memories of Colorforms geos back to 1960. As I recall, Colorforms were one of the sponsors of "Captain Kangaroo", so the toy got plenty of exposure on television back in the day.

1960 was the first time I was aware that some people had cars as Christmas gifts!

eddstarrDec 30, 2023View
