20499 | Last Movie You Watched | Last movie I watched was some King Arthur movie from the 50s/60s. It was so bad I don't even remember the name. All the characters had these ridiculous footlong poofy feathers on top of their helmets and all their horses wore hoods for some reason. The swordfights were embarrassingly lame. I'm not expecting expert choreography, but this was something else. Let's put it this way: you get the impression that these aren't knights seasoned in battle, but little kids on their first day of swordfighting class who aren't allowed to swing their weapons at all. <div>I could overlook all of this if the rest of the movie wasn't so incomprehensibly <span style="font-style: italic;">boring. </span>It's what feels like 20 minutes of talking broken up by the breathtaking swordfighting I mentioned earlier. I don't think I ever found out just what they were talking about.<br><div style="font-style: normal;"><div><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 10pt;">All in all It was kind of like watching Monty Python and The Holy Grail with the funny parts cut out.</span><div><div><br><div><div>To be fair, I was recovering from surgery and whacked out of my mind on pain killers and who knows what else, so I should watch it in a "proper" state of mind before writing it off completely.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div> | jkatz | May 07, 2015

Now I didn't know what the the heck that was, but I found out within ~35 seconds of googling (it's a car made for Soviet officials from the 30s-50s btw), in addition to learning about the technical specs and even seeing a few pictures. Circa Pre-Internet, I'd have to go down to the library, search for books on eastern european cars using the (ugh) catalog until I found the one that had the information I wanted, only to find out it's been checked out, then wait weeks for it to be returned, by which point I wouldn't care anymore.</span></span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;"><br></span></span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">So kids these days have an easier time than ever as far as accumulating obscure/pointless trivia is concerned.</span></span></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></b></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></b></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></b></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></b></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);">thecrow174 wrote :</b><br style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><i style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></i><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249); font-style: italic;">The joy of playing outside.</span><i style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);"><br></i><b style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(254, 253, 249);">-end quote</b></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-variant: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt;">What is this "out...side" you speak of?</div> | jkatz | May 07, 2015
