Thanks for enlightening us Ajimbo. At least it has some meaning now to us. Vaporman87Sep 14, 2015View
24057Hi EveryoneWelcome, kidcoffee!

The wallmasters quote with ninja face came from a member of RetroJunk named "Xe-A-Thoul". He had started a forum in 2004 based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time when he was 14~15. Someone named "MalonGirl" joined his forum, and this was his introduction: "Hi... welcome to my forum. Beware of Wallmasters.. :ninja:" They became close friends and moved to instant messaging. He had a crush on her for years, but then she got a boyfriend.

When Xe-A-Thoul was 18, he became friends with a new user on RetroJunk named "Bomberman". They were like brothers. Bomberman used to tease Xe-A-Thoul about MalonGirl by using the quote, but then a mod named "adventure_of_link" started posting it every time someone new joined. It was used in the RetroJunk Chatango page, the RetroJunk IRC, the Retro Gamers forum, and the Retro Gamers 2nd forum. Xe-A-Thoul was not amused by it. He deleted his old forum to keep people from teasing him about it more. Adventure_of_link still had screencaps, though.

Now people use it without knowing what it means.
AjimboSep 14, 2015View

24054Sports films.
Vaporman87 wrote :
Was that the film with Kristy Swanson in it? -end quote
Yeah. There was that huge controversy about it because of the scene where they lay down on the street lines in traffic. I think they cut that scene.FuzzSep 14, 2015View

24051How Did You Find/What Brought You to Retro-Daze?If I remember correctly, I got an e-mail or private message from Vapor inviting me to check it out. And of course i saw the postings on Retrojunk. I had only posted a few articles there and wasn't really a part of the "community". I came here and liked what I saw and have participated a lot more here than I ever did there. I really like the man running things here and how he steers things.mickyarberSep 14, 2015View
24050How Did You Find/What Brought You to Retro-Daze?I knew about the site from Vape's activity on RetroJunk. At first I didn't join because I was still "loyal" to RJ. But after realizing that Vertex truly didn't care about the site or it's members, I finally joined about 3 months or so after Retro-Daze went online. I'm really glad some of the veterans moved over here, I'm sure if The Daze was around longer we could have got some of the great members who left earlier.

Anyone remember Achilles? He was one of the great RJ writers, he runs http://www.jamescamerononline.com/ now.
vkimoSep 14, 2015View
