29066What song are you listening to?Here's an old 80's tune that seems to be gaining a second life for reasons I don't fully understand. This is what makes the online world so fascinating to me, I can't predict what stuff from the past will catch attention decades into the future but I love the way old 80's tunes bring out everyone's creative side.<div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div><span style="font-weight: bold;">Jim Capaldi</span> was a British rocker that fell hard for the techno-electronic sounds of the early 80's and he was a driving force for doing away with actual musical instruments altogether - with mixed results. Jim teamed up with his friends Steve Winwood and his band to create a little song that caught my ear during the rise of video games for the home gamer fans.</div><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div> <img src="https://ytimg.googleusercontent.com/vi/FTAo48a6xaE/mqdefault.jpg"> <div><span style="font-weight: normal;">I have to admit, "</span><span style="font-weight: bold;">That's Love</span>" doesn't sound like much after a casual listen, but something about this song kinda stands out. Anyway, guys are starting to pick-up on this old tune to play around with a few ideas.&nbsp;</div><div>Stay Tuned!</div><div><br></div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/P7v_S94a8ow" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrFeb 16, 2016View
29065The CaféMy only complaint, where's the fun?<div><br></div><div>Why does everything have to be a pumped-up, testosterone high? Is it possible to make a movie without "ass-kicking" everything?</div><div><br></div><div>Right from the first animated series, TMNT was all about fun. I'm still lovin' the original cartoon with it's rough draw style and silly plots, lol.</div><div><br></div><div>Or maybe I'm just old.</div>eddstarrFeb 16, 2016View
29064SitcomsBy the way you set the question I'm thinking about TV shows that took me out of my everyday self and drew me into the characters world. My favorite British comedies did that and I'd like to talk up one in particular.<div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><br></div> <img src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/28/5a/30/285a30aac98c6d845c6618a5fef060b7.jpg"> <div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">In the UK it was called, "The Good Neighbors", in the USA it went by, "The Good Life".&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 10pt;">I know you guys remember it, and this show really struck a chord with me.&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Credit to Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal, they were magic together on screen. Here's the lowdown:&nbsp;</span></div><div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><br></span></div><div style="font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><span style="font-weight: bold;">The Good Life </span>- His 40th birthday convinces Tom Good, (Richard Briers), to make a change. He talks his wife, Barbara, (Felicity Kendal), into giving up the so-called "middle-class rat race" and take up a life of simplicity and self-sufficiency.&nbsp;</span></div><div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><br></span></div> <img src="http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/images/episode/b00wyhth_640_360.jpg"> <div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; white-space: pre-wrap; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">They convert their suburban home into a farm, planting crops in the back garden and bringing in pigs and chickens (including a rooster they name Lenin). I love the caricature of him that Will Sasso played in Mad TV. So dumb and not at all like Kenny Rogers. Will was so funny I was sure he was gonna have his own show. Seems to me that after Will left MadTV that's when Bobby Lee joined the show.</div>eddstarrFeb 16, 2016View

So Mr. Bay gets a golf clap from me for that much.<br>Vaporman87Feb 16, 2016View
