29126The CaféI went to Dollywood/Pideon Forge area earlier this year. It was during that time they had the parade where Dolly herself was in the floats. It was pretty nice. I went to the Smoky mountains and took plenty of pics. Within Dollywood they had plenty of rides and things to see. I also saw the Dixie Stampede while I was there. Great show! I definitely recommend it. Went to the Titanic museum too. Only downside is that they won't let you take pictures. Might have something to do with preservation of the artifacts.

I'd like to go back to see more of Gatlinburg and the other attractions I missed. Specifically the Wonder Works thing or whatever it's called. It looked like an upside down house.

Edit:

Whoops, my brain is still in 2015 for some reason. I meant earlier 'this year' as in early 2015.
Linux_SageFeb 18, 2016View

29124George Gaynes DeadI'm only really familiar with him on Police Academy but going over his wiki article it sounds like he did quite a lot of movies. It looks like he led a good long life.DirtyD79Feb 17, 2016View

29121Pee-wee's Big HolidayI'm super excited!! :D It's about time Pee-wee made a comeback. Seriously though, past few days have been bad, so this puts a smile on my face.

(Also, Paul Reubens looks pretty good! Hadn't seen him in a while.)
VillechaizeLoveFeb 17, 2016View
29120If you had your own TV Channel, What would you show?I suppose it would be a channel where TechTV left off before it started to diverge into mindless nonsense with what G4 became. It'd focus more on technology/science, tech trends, etc. Although I don't think a TV channel like that would be successful in this day and age with the internet and all. It would have to be done in a clever manner in order to make people watch. But yeah it's hard to find a good educational channel which isn't riddled with reality pawn shops or aliens. Linux_SageFeb 17, 2016View

I've never actually seen them up close and personal before. -end quote
I hear Dollywood is fantastic. I haven't been there, but I have spent a lot of time in Pigeon Forge over the years. Heck, I even got married there a lifetime ago. Its a great place, you'll enjoy it especially if you've never been to the mountains before. -end quote
I've been there more times than I can count in my lifetime. We had our honeymoon there. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and Orlando have kind of become second homes to me. Dollywood is great, and I definitely recommend heading there at least one time. Get there earlier though, because the parking lot is long and narrow and winds around a hillside. If you can hitch a ride on the tram to the entrance, that'll help. Last time we were there we had to walk forever to and from our car because of our 3 kid stroller.

Make sure to ride Thunderhead (great woody coaster), and hit up the 50's style diner toward the first leg of the park.

I also recommend the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, and fudge from Aunt Mahalia's. There are two or three Aunt Mahalia's on the main drag there in Gatlinburg.
Vaporman87Feb 17, 2016View
