48924Weapon of Choice
I think it's why Facebook and others introduced watch parties.
Vaporman87Jan 28, 2022View
48923Covid-19 on the decline...
Holy cow Jeremy. I'm glad you're on the mend. That would be a frightening experience. So glad you didn't injure your head more severely.
Vaporman87Jan 28, 2022View
48922Weapon of Choice
Yeah, those shared experiences have faded fast. It's part of why I love watching the Joe Bob marathons since they are "streamed live" and everyone talks on twitter while it happens.
oniparJan 28, 2022View
48921Covid-19 on the decline...
Holy cow, I'm so sorry to hear that Rick. I'm glad you're okay. Sorry to hear everyone who has contracted COVID (Vkimo, Mr. Magic). Hopefully everyone is better or getting better.

I go back to on-campus teaching again this Monday, so fingers crossed. I was there all last semester too with N95 masks, but with the new varient, you never know.
oniparJan 28, 2022View
48920Covid-19 on the decline...
Had COVID for a few weeks and it kept me out of work. It was really a nerveracking, frustrating situation. I mean, it was bad enough having COVID, but not seeing my friends at my job. It was too much!
Mr MagicJan 28, 2022View

No other animated series introduced new characters in such an entertaining way.

What I mean is, everyone who watched the first Pokemon episode didn't know anything about Pokemon, but the episode introduces several Pokemon as a "fantasy flashback/flashforward" from Ash. He was fantasizing which Pokemon he wanted as his first acquisition, and by default, we all learned about the different Pokemon in a natural, easygoing way.

From my generation, it was great to see a character like Professor Oak, many qualities similar to the Professor from Gilligan's Island. He has a slight resemblance to Russell Johnson!

eddstarrJan 28, 2022View
48917Peter Robbins died

You could say Peter Robbins made history. I really hadn't realized it until 1968 that until the Peanuts gang was animated, child animated characters were voiced by adult actors. Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang were the first to use actual childern to voice child animated characters.

Next time you watch, "A Charlie Brown Christmas", pay close attention to Charlie Brown's sister, Sally. The voice quality by Cathy Steinberg is amazing, just like Peter Robbins. It's actually outstanding to hear children speaking but saying things in a manner totally unchildlike!
eddstarrJan 28, 2022View
48916Covid-19 on the decline...
I avoided it for two years. Today I joined the club. In the worst way imaginable too. I started feeling ill Tuesday. Slight muscle aches, throat soreness and a fever. I didn't get any sleep Tuesday or Wednesday night. I hadn't really eaten anything over the last 24 hours. This morning I decided to shower because I felt scuzzy. I don't know whether it was from the heat of the shower, exhaustion or all of the above. But I started feeling very lightheaded.

Before I had time to react, I blacked out and went crashing outside the bathtub. I tore down the shower curtain and the rod, taking it with me. I crash into the cabinet for the sink, knocking the door off it's hinges. I end up sandwiched between the sink and the corner to one of the walls. I ended up with a nasty gash on my head, and scraps all down my back and right arm.

My aunt heard the commotion from upstairs and ran down to find me. Terrified I had a head injury, she called an ambulance to take me to the hospital. I spent the entire day in the emergency room in an isolated room due to my symptoms. I had a CT scan performed on my head and my neck. Luckily I didn't have a concussion or more serious injury. The test they performed for COVID came back positive. I feel okay right now. My condition seems to be improving. My head however hurts.
Rick Ace RhodesJan 28, 2022View
