2755ArticleVaporman87What a strange woman. It really isn't clear what she was trying to get out of you or accomplish. Sounds like an eccentric old lady with poor social skills. In my mind I keep seeing the old lady from "Throw Mamma From The Train" and "The Goonies". LOL One thing is certain, that would be one very memorable final Trick or Treat night.  Oct 02, 2015View
2757ArticleVaporman87Ahhh... the unbridled entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. When everything seemed like a perfect money making scheme. Here, at least it turned out to be the real deal. Too bad your mom had to go and be a spoil sport and catch on. LOL Joes weren't the only figs to suffer this fate. He-Man also utilized the o rings in the legs. Very annoying and a cheap way to go. 2759ArticleVaporman87YES! You included Scare Glow... easily my favorite "baddie" in the entire 80's MOTU line. And I never owned him. Nope. He was one that eluded me, even though I always wanted him. Needless to say I was happy to get multiples of him when the Classics line arrived. And he's still awesome. Glow-in-the-dark, wicked bladed scythe, wrist band and chain with a Castle Grayskull lid and a special key inside... just awesome. Aside from that, I was thinking Bad-To-The-Bone's catch phrase should instead be that sound that Goofy makes when he falls off a cliff. AHHH hoo hoo wee! Even in death, Mr. T can kick the butts of fools. And yes, earwax is an issue all skeletons deal with, but are too embarrassed to bring to the attention of medical professionals.5 Coolest Retro Skeleton Action FiguresOct 02, 2015View
2760ArticleVaporman87I do hope so. I just wish I could recall more of my own money making schemes. Other than selling junk at yard sales, lemonade stands, and selling baseball cards.Yo JoeOct 02, 2015View

2773ArticleVaporman87It may be cliche, but I think it's true. And, I think the generations that came before us were probably justified to feel the same way. Seems that the further back you go, the more innocent and simple times were, the easier it was to enjoy something festive like Halloween. That pumpkin patch sounds amazing! I wish so badly that something like that was here locally. Sure, there are corn mazes and such, but nothing so elaborate as that. There is a farm within an hour drive of here that does similar things... pumpkin painting, hay rides, etc. But not haunted houses or cool things like that. Thanks for sharing with us alibbygirl.Pumpkin Patch MemoriesOct 05, 2015View
2774ArticleVaporman87Oh I wore my fair share of Ben Cooper costumes (and probably some Collegeville ones as well). I don't recall which unfortunately, but I do remember the feel and smell of those vinyl costumes and the uncomfortable feel of those plastic masks. Often my face would be pouring sweat, as those masks made it impossible to vent the condensation from your breathing. Then the rubber band would get caught in your hair and that would get really uncomfortable. I still love them though. The bacteria cesspools that we used for bobbing for apples games was something I never thought about. As a kid, it never even crossed my mind that 50 people had put their faces in there before me. Now, of course, it makes me sick just thinking about it. LOL And yes, the time frames that we do trick or treating at now seem absurd. It is barely dark by the time my kids are done (about 7:00 PM) and that really detracts from the experience. I do make sure to tag alone with my kids these days, even though I was free to roam our neighborhood with no parental supervision in my youth. mainly because their is a major road cutting through the houses, and because it's just more dangerous for kids these days. But we do get in on the act by costuming ourselves. Fun article slayer, thanks! Halloween Night In The 80'sOct 05, 2015View
2775ArticleVaporman87Great list Ben. I'm really loving the title and closing images! Great selection of candy here, though I would probably have put Whatchamacallit at the top of mine. Zero bars would also be in there, but I wouldn't often get those as they didn't come in "fun" size.Benjanime's Top Ten Halloween CandiesOct 05, 2015View
2783ArticleVaporman87Video? I never doubted your true believer status NLogan. Your entry in last year's contest pretty well cemented that as fact. The Unsung Heroes of HalloweenOct 06, 2015View
