2378ArticleVaporman87@echidna: LOL. I used to believe that one day I would create a robot companion... out of cardboard. Also, I was pretty certain I could fly for just a split second whenever I jumped off the couch. Jul 10, 2015View

2389ArticleVaporman87Yeah, basically the whole card collecting/manufacturing craze imploded around the time the final movie in the franchise came around, and that is pretty evident here. I actually prefer the simple, plain style of the original series of cards. Reminds me of my days collecting Topps baseball cards. Once Fleer, Donruss, and Skybox got big in the game, things got way too complicated, flashy, and collector oriented. It wasn't about kids picking up cards and enjoying them, it was more about adults who wanted them simply for the value in a Beckett. That bubble burst around the same time that comic book values plummeted. Great retrospective on the Batman series and cards in general Hoju!Batman Trading Cards of the 80's and 90'sJul 13, 2015View
2390ArticleVaporman87LOL. There is certainly a fair amount of "retro" to be found in this photo. I can clearly see the beads and baseball card in your spokes. And the Micro Machines collection behind you is sweet! Add the painted paneling and yellowish oak dresser and you have a quintessential 80's backdrop. Love the attitude in this photo, as well as the style of dress. It's perfect.Retro-graphic Evidence: Video Games are Cool!Jul 13, 2015View

2397ArticleVaporman87@echidna: Yeah, cuz if there's anything kids loved more than comics, it was eating junk food! It's crazy to think how fast the comic book boom of the 90's came and went. It was a bubble that was looking to burst from the get go. Still, it brought about some great new talent and some awesome new heroes and villians, as well as some legendary stories. Wizard was at the heart of it all... a relic from a market we likely won't see again. Digital media has made that a certainty.1993 Comic Book Ads from Wizard MagazineJul 14, 2015View
2398ArticleVaporman87Agreed c_b_f. My friends and I didn't exactly take to what everyone else thought of as "fun". Ours involved going to each others homes and making terrible movies, audio recordings, or just generally horsing around outside... using our imaginations. Others would have thought we were childish and immature. I didn't care.Retro-graphic Evidence: Video Games are Cool!Jul 14, 2015View
