1532ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I said it would be controversial, didn't I? The Filmation omission was definitely on my mind. I figured since I was already trashing H-B, focusing in Filmation's faults would be redundant. Bravestarr and Ghostbusters were B-Level favorites of mine whose animation quality did improve a lot over He-Man, but the associated toys were always better than their cartoons. @pikachulover The Disney cartoons deserve an article all their own. I almost added The Wuzzles to the list, but they were cut for length. I actually thought the G1 My Little Pony TV movies were OK animation wise, but they had pretty scary villains terrorizing the ponies. @Fulton4V Glad get some support on Dinosaucers. One of the creators, Michael Uslan was a producer on Batman '89 and a lifelong comic book fan. He talks about developing the show in his book, "The Boy Who Loved Batman". Nov 28, 2014View
1649ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I might just take you up on that. It's about time to transfer those recording before the tapes disintegrate anyway. My Christmas 1982Dec 15, 2014View
3771ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I like your Z Force idea. They didn't work separately, but with their pilot powers combined... @jkatz Yeah, Heat Vision and Jack is probably the most well known failed TV pilot, but it wasn't laughably bad, just a missed opportunity.Wackiest Failed TV Pilots Part 2Feb 22, 2017View
2224ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I have a soft spot for promotional t-shirts as well, but the comment that interests me most is the Spuds McKenzie shirt. I have always found it fascinating how lenient adults were back in the day letting kids wear shirts for products they were not old enough to consume. Like Spuds or the Budweiser frogs. Most specifically I remember a girl in my weight training class in high school who wore a shirt crammed with cartoon characters in "Inappropriate" positions, but because they were drawings, no teacher ever noticed. It was crazy. @pikachulover At least you didn't put that on display for all to see outside your robe. That would have been B-A-N-A-N-A-S.Treasured ClothingApr 19, 2015View

1993ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I appreciate your final thought there. This has really struck a cord on my Facebook page too, judging by the comments. Hey, if we can raise a kinder generation of kids it would be great. Otherwise we can just help our kids to deal with the inevitable times of being singled out for our differences and teach them to celebrate that. Sure I got picked on, but I never changed for other people. Eventually they appreciated who I was. OK, off my soap box now ;) @NLogan It's so cool that you had back-up all those years, great to have a partner along for the ride. Al That moving must have been rough. Your point about the possessions is pretty well founded, sometimes they would be the only constant.Being The Fat KidFeb 13, 2015View
3364ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I am imagining multiple puzzle based locks and mechanics in your Valentine receptical. @pikachulover Yeah, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were definitely big for everybody back then.Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 15, 2016View

2310ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Good to be back! Oh poor Prototype, aka "Imitation Iron Man", at least he wasn't as mixed up as "Mantra"...oh my. I totally had the Marvel Super Heroes Deathlok action figure with the lifting metal brain cover, even though I never picked up an issue of his book. I always got Union and Supreme mixed up for some reason. @comic_book_fan Sleepwalker definitely needed to be on this list. I feel like whenever I see piles of old comics at a thrift store there is bound to be 2 or 3 Sleepwalker #1's in there. Five Forgotten Comic Heroes of the 90'sJun 19, 2015View
2584ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Godzilla was so embraced by America, it's almost as if he has dual-citizenship. My favorite rental of the G-Man was King Kong vs. Godzilla, but it never registered to me as strictly Japanese when I was a kid, despite the obvious dubbing over Japanese actors. @massreality Is the marble edible? Sounds like a game where you try not to hoke to death ;) Have you ever tried those Koala cookies with the chocolate filling? I left those out of the article for space, but that was another Japanese snack I really enjoyed.Japanimaniacs: Video Games, Toys and SnacksAug 29, 2015View
