4197ArticlemickyarberAhhh....getting to read your take on these cards makes sending them to you more than worth it. Thanks for the article. I loved buying packs of cards as a kid, but the unfortunate thing was, when my old man would buy me a pack, it would be so long when he would do it again, I rarely had the chance to get the same cards again. So I ended up with one pack from about 20 different lines through the years. Not much of a chance to collect any one particular thing. These days, I continue to search out unopened packs of EVERYTHING, and have quite a large collection that stands as a time capsule of trading cards. I have roughly 150 different series of unopened packs, and there are a lot more out there to find.Trading Card TreasuresNov 07, 2017View
960ArticleVaporman87Ahhh... you really know how to bring out the nostalgia in a reader. Yes, rainy days COULD be fun. To be honest, I don't remember much about what we would typically do during elementary school recesses that were rained out. If I'm not mistaken, we would hang out in class or the gym. This was not nearly as fun as being outside (and under less focused supervision). Yet, rainy days did have a special quality about them. For me, it forced me to draw more on my inner creativity... creating new ways to enjoy my toys or new ideas for crafting or drawing things that interested me. Everything from forts in the garage made of refrigerator boxes (my family owned a furniture store until the mid-90's) to robots made with cardboard, construction paper, markers, and tape. I didn't particularly like playing IN the rain though. However, it did provide some neat chances to create mini landscapes for my toys to live in... landscapes with "ponds" and "rivers". This was a great article. Thanks for this vkimo!!! Remembering Rainy DaysJan 30, 2014View
2375ArticleVaporman87Ahhh... the USS Flagg. No kid I ever knew DIDN'T want that behemoth sitting in their room. I am certain I listed that one a few times on Christmas, but never got it. That and Metroplex (from Transformers). I did own a Lazer Tag set, and let me ease your conscience by saying it did not live up to the hype. The sensor/gun combo was not very accurate or effective. There would be times when you KNEW you aimed perfectly, but a hit would not register. Of course this was early on in the technology of "laser tag" gaming, so that's to be expected. I should also mention that in the Goldbergs episode where Adam gives up all his toys, his prized possession is, of course, the USS Flagg. Lucky Adam. Great read Mickey! All good stuff.Yesterdays: Things I DIDN'T Have As A KidJul 10, 2015View
2757ArticleVaporman87Ahhh... the unbridled entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. When everything seemed like a perfect money making scheme. Here, at least it turned out to be the real deal. Too bad your mom had to go and be a spoil sport and catch on. LOL Joes weren't the only figs to suffer this fate. He-Man also utilized the o rings in the legs. Very annoying and a cheap way to go.
