4146ArticleSupermanThis reminds me of some of the contests Fox Kids used to run. I entered a few of them but never won. It was always my dream that one day I would be a winner, though. If you ever see an active listing for one of those Spy Kits, I think you should totally buy it for her! Better late than never, and it would make for a very sentimental gift. Sep 23, 2017View
1981ArticlejkatzThis reminds me of Mr. Pibb, another long gone, sadly missed soda. Fortunately somebody ha he foresight to horde a few cans back in the day,and now it can be yours for the low, low price of $25 per can! http://www.sodafinder.com/products/mr-pibbThings Are Going To Be OKFeb 12, 2015View
3175ArticleVaporman87This reminds me of a bad experience in our fourth grade gift exchange. I received a heavily used Star Wars figure wrapped in newspaper and sealed in a cardboard box ( no wrapping paper ). It came from one of the less fortunate students in the class. But me being a spoiled little 10 year old, I took it upon myself to cry about it. Looking back on it now, I cringe and hate myself for my reaction. I guess I had witnessed my friends and others getting these nice new gifts, and felt cheated. A Mature Gift ExchangeDec 11, 2015View
2496ArticleVaporman87This reminds me a fairly unique place that I sometimes frequented around this same time. It was actually a video game retailer, but an independent one. Unlike the Electronic Boutiques and Gamestops of the world, this was just a little Mom and Pop place in a small strip mall area. There, you could not only buy the latest games, consoles, and accessories... you could TRY them before you committed your hard-earned cash toward them. Several TVs with a different console at each lined the tables in the back room. You paid for a certain amount of time, picked the game you wished to have a go with (though not all new releases were immediately available for trying), paid the fee, and off you went to the back room. In a closet-sized room behind the demo tables, they hid the most technologically advanced console of the day. A big screen TV and premium surround sound system huddled around a single recliner was all that sat in there. THAT was the place to be. It might cost you a little more, but you had the chance to experience those games the way they were meant to be experienced.A New Kind of ArcadeAug 10, 2015View

653ArticleVaporman87This one gives me chills, but it was extremely interesting. My heart is still beating a little faster after reading it. It makes you feel a bit uneasy to think that, whatever precautions you take in life, there are those moments of when the unlikely or freakish just happen. A great read, if not a bit morbid. 3124ArticleDirtyD79This one Burger King I used to work at back in 2003 still has the Burger King Kids Club stuff up over in their Play Land or whatever you want to call it. Personally I miss the old McDonald's playland. When I was a kid this one we used to always go to had those booths that looked like a train. It was even more cool because the restaurant was across the street from some train tracks so you could watch trains go by while you ate. They also had those Fry Kid bouncy things, the slide with that pirate dude on top, and that Officer Big Mac climbing thing. The mouth formed bars like a little jail cell and you could jump out of this one gap. I remember as a kid thinking it was like a zillion miles high and then being surprised how small it was when I was a teenager. I also remember people used to write graffiti inside there. The typical stuff like "For a good time call blah blah blah." or anarchy symbols. I gotta agree McDonald's and most fast food places these days just look lame. Boring box shaped buildings with decor straight out of a hospital waiting room. Just no imagination. What I Miss From ChildhoodNov 18, 2015View
