1323ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo: Yeah, that security cage for the games is a vivid memory for me as well. It was just so mysterious. It was actual dreams I've had of returning to Toys R Us in the 80's that inspired this article. And yes, the good Doctor has a few more adventures up his sleeve. @Vaporman87 Those costumes would be an amazing, if not stinky find. I used to manage a KB Toy Store and the highlight of my life was when Spider-Man came for an in-store (Barbie was OK too). It was in 2001, so I'm not sure if it qualifies for the site, but I took a lot of pictures with him. I even convinced him to pose in the storage room with the mask off as if he was Peter Parker doing a quick change. Yeah, I'm a little weird. Sep 24, 2014View
2120ArticleVaporman87@vkimo: Sounds like an episode of the Twilight Zone! LOL. Boy has huge crush on girl... girl obliges boy... girl gets fixated on boy... boy fears for his life because girl won't leave him alone... EVER.Dirty DancingMar 20, 2015View
5441Articleonipar@vkimo: NEPA, Pocono Mountain region. Yeah, where I moved to is much more sprawled out with nothing super "local" for kids. Not like running across the street in Brooklyn. :-p @Benjanime, Oof that stinks, sorry to hear it. The Corner StoreJun 10, 2021View
5194ArticleVaporman87@vkimo: I don't think so. It's possible they've done it as a Rifftrax release, but I'm pretty sure it was never riffed on via MST3K.The Wraith - An 80's Cult Classic May 05, 2020View
353ArticleVaporman87@vkimo: I agree. Too often we tend to look at the past from only our own point of view as males. It is a breath of fresh air to see how things looked from a female perspective. Thanks again pikachulover!1995 & 1996 Fashion Trends (90's Girl Fashion) Feb 18, 2013View
3218ArticleNLogan@vkimo, mine were tattooed former airborne rangers at 6'6" and 6'4" respectively. One put us on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and wheelied scaring the crap out of me. The other had the nickname "Tree" and had his own slot machine one armed bandit that you could play. It never escalated beyond beating them at chess and losing to them in arm wrestles. By the time I could actually take them in high school I was heavily into martial arts and they were both in their late 50s. But I still remember the, "Say boy, c'mere lookit this".Bah Humbug!Dec 14, 2015View
4910ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo Yeah, Shelley Long can be an acquired taste, but her character in Troop Beverly Hills is a total 180 from Diane on Cheers. Much kinder and goofier, less self-seriousness.10 Best Cameos In Troop Beverly HillsApr 18, 2019View
4513ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo Yeah, it's hard to grasp all the tropes being satirized as a kid, it just seems like a fun fantasy adventure. UPDATE #2: I finally got my interview completed with the gentleman who worked for Topps in the 90s and worked on the never released LAH comic book insert trading cards. It's a doozy, so stay tuned.Last Action Hero Movie MerchandiseAug 13, 2018View
1696ArticleNLogan@vkimo what is really impressive is that neither of my parents could afford the presents they got me. My dad is a postal carrier and my mom a secretary. Now that I am an adult I wonder just how much debt they went into for those smiles on Christmas morning.NLogan's Retro ChristmasDec 19, 2014View
3585Articlemickyarber@vkimo thanks for the compliment on the formatting. I put some time into the pics. And yes, my old man really is the genuine article. You could ask him about this stuff now, and he'd just brush it off. Hate to hear that you missed out on these awesome toys of the 80s. I just can't imagine there will be anything that could ever top G.I. Joe for versatile fun.1986: The Year That Santa Became RealDec 15, 2016View
