3283ArticleVaporman87This was a part of childhood I never experienced (for which I am grateful, actually). It would have been very difficult for me if I had, being a very shy and introverted kid who was also short. Probably the closest experience I could have had to this would have been my first year in high school (which, as I have previously mentioned elsewhere here at RD, was actually my 7th grade year... since there was no "middle school" in my school district. 7th graders and Seniors walked the same halls in my school). That was a bit of an awkward struggle for us all, being so young and trying to find our place amongst these high schoolers. No, I needed the stability and familiarity in my youth. Even though my status in school wasn't exactly what one would like, it was enough for me to get by without too much bullying/humiliation/etc., and I even managed to be acceptable enough to be on friendly terms with some whose status was much higher than mine. I made it work, somehow. To have to give that up and start anew... that would have crushed me, I think. I'm glad you made the most of it Hoju. My hats off to you. Jan 19, 2016View
786ArticleVaporman87This was a really great look back at the evolution of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal through the major transitions of the early 90's to today. It is funny how some bands managed to stay on top throughout the years, while others just either could not adapt, or refused to. Thanks to Venomous Mask for this! The Great Hard Rock HarvestSep 06, 2013View

4392ArticleVaporman87This was a varied and unique list. Very interesting stuff! I too was always a bit disturbed by Something Wicked This Way Comes. Though it's been so long since I last watched it that I don't recall anything specific that bothered me most. I have heard of The Peanut Butter Solution but never had the opportunity to watch it. Nor have I seen The Brave Little Toaster, Mac and Me, or Space Camp. One film that bothered me a bit when I was young was Escape to Witch Mountain. I'm not sure why, but some scenes creeped me out. Parts of the jail scene in particular. Then again, the creep factor was balanced out by my crush on Kim Richards, so...Creepiest Kids' MoviesMay 26, 2018View
3295ArticleVaporman87This was a very emotional read, and really well done. I can think back to my time in school, and watching some of my fellow classmates suffer like you. I myself was the target of the occasional bully, though not nearly to this extent. I somehow managed to find a place in school that kept me out of the crosshairs for the most part, and even allowed me to have some civil relationships with those who might otherwise have bullied me. I can't imagine the bullying I did receive being multiplied to such a degree that I feared going to school every day, and felt like there was no help for me. Now that I am a father of school age children myself, I see the act of bullying from a totally different perspective. I would be furious to find out such things were happening to my child, and the school would come to fear my phone calls if such things ever happened routinely. I am not one of those people who believe our children today are becoming spoiled and weak because we are more serious about bullying in our schools these days. Bullying is something that no child should have to endure. I do believe that kids today are indeed more apt to BE spoiled and weak, but not because of our approach to bullying in schools today. Thank you for sharing this difficult set of memories with us Rick. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I am glad you overcame all that adversity.Being BulliedFeb 01, 2016View

290VideoBenjanimethis was actually before rareware changed it to conker's bad fur day. a lot of fans at E3 declared that they liked the cutesy look, which i guess the developers weren't fond of hearing, so they decided to change it up to a more adult focused game. this was also going to be on the ill-fated nintendo 64 disc drive, with supposed features like a day/night system and scheduled events through an internal game clock. not sure if those two are entirely true, but with the n64dd it would have been possibleConker's Twelve Tales Gameplay ShowcaseFeb 08, 2013View
