4686ArticleBenjanimethere was actually a brief point in time when my mom actually baked christmas cookies, including the gingerbread man made for the tree, but she stopped when she saw that i attempted to eat that same gingerbread man, lol.RetroJunk Classic: The 90s Holiday Trilogy: ChristmasNov 27, 2018View
4688ArticleVaporman87Great breakdown of a typical family Christmas in the '90s. Great for getting into the spirit of things. Thanks TDitH!RetroJunk Classic: The 90s Holiday Trilogy: ChristmasNov 27, 2018View
4730ArticleDalek227That was the best, that last day of gradeschool before the holidays. I think we even had a small party in Jr high as well. Gradeschool was the best though. Like you said, eating treats, drinking punch and watching movies. Maybe exchanging Secret Santa gifts or getting a small treat from the teacher before you get on the bus and look forward to opening presents in a few days. Back then I swear Christmas break felt much longer. RetroJunk Classic: The 90s Holiday Trilogy: ChristmasDec 19, 2018View

4814ArticleVaporman87It’s the comfort of simpler times and a relative freedom from the responsibilities and concerns of present day that constitute the “magic”, in my opinion. That and the perception in your youth that the future holds endless possibilities.RetroJunk Classic: The Magic of NostalgiaJan 28, 2019View
4818ArticleThatDudeintheHoodieI fully agree with that Vapor. RetroJunk Classic: The Magic of NostalgiaJan 29, 2019View
5117ArticleBadkarmaDear Abby touches on this in an article called 'longing for the past casts shadows on the future'. She describes nostalgia as a kind of pain (jonesing) for times long gone. Interesting perspective, but anyone feeling this way should seek professional help pronto cuz it's just stupid to agonize over stupid shit from your stupid childhood, especially since you're a stupid grown up still crying for your stupid ninja turtle plushie that used to let you have your way w/ it. So, get help. Or laid. Dumbass. RetroJunk Classic: The Magic of NostalgiaFeb 04, 2020View
5118ArticleThatDudeintheHoodieI disagree to an extent, it can be used as a coping tool, but like anything, it can be bad when in excess. There isn't anything wrong with say collecting old toys or watching old movies you like as a kid. It's letting your brain get addicted to dopamine from that nostalgia trip that can be an issue. Also, this is a PG site, please be careful with what you say on here. I can make a sailor blush and even I know when to use the right language.
