Article | Vaporman87 | That's a neat story DirtyD. That had to be a great tour to take. To see all those strange and seemingly senseless features in the house, that has to be very cool. | Oct 15, 2015 | ![]() |
Article | Superman | That's a nice assessment of two great films. The two of them are really neck and neck for me, but I've written how I would break things down below. Best Batman: Batman Begins (but only slightly) Best Batmobile: toss-up (I really liked the Tumbler, even though it doesn't much match what the Batmobile should be.) Best villain: Batman 1989 Best love interest: Batman 1989 Best Gotham: Batman 1989 Best Commissioner Gordon: Batman Begins Best Alfred: Batman Begins | Old vs. New: Batman vs. Batman Begins | Sep 13, 2017 | ![]()
Article | Superman | That's a nice set of action figures. I used to own that same Green Ranger figure. He was my favorite back then, so I snatched him right up when I saw him at the store. | Action Figure Reclamation Project Phase 2 | Jan 15, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | That's a pretty great collection of "girl toys", some of which I had never seen before (Gorgeous Creatures, AHHHH!). Those action figure sized Disney Princess dolls sound like an awesome experiment. I thought it was great how in the later run of the TMNT figures we finally got those Irma, Vern and Burne figures. I'm surprised they didn't come with mutant creature heads to dress them in for battles with Shredder. Very cool Pizazz costume too. The Misfits were way more fun than Jem and The Holograms, less glamour, more attitude! @Vaporman87 We definitely need to do a retro Halloween costume contest next year, don't you think? | Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2014! | Jan 14, 2015 | ![]()
Article | onipar | That's a really good point, Vaporman, and I totally agree. In fact, my favorite subgenre of horror is "campy," and I have no doubt it was due to all the great 80's horror movies I used to watch as a kid. Pure camp, b-movie glory. God I love that stuff. I may have to start doing some 80's horror movie review/articles to post here. | Retro-graphic Evidence: Horror in the 80s | Jul 08, 2015 | ![]()
Article | SockofFleagulls | That's alot of love! Would defintiely agree with your #1. Some other personal favorites I would put higher but great list! | Top 80 Songs from the 80s with LOVE in the Title | Feb 24, 2017 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | That's an awesome introduction to the world of comic books, nice story. Image comics were pretty disposable to me, but the toys were the best. That first Spawn figure changed the game entirely. I had a few WildC.A.T.S. figures myself, in fact I made an "action figure movie" starring Maul and Hellspont with our family video camera. But Grifter definitely had the best design. | Christmas of 1994 | Dec 11, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | That's an awesome trip Hoju. I know that Universal in Orlando had many of the same attractions you spoke of here, and I got to see many of them over the years. I haven't been to Universal Studios in Orlando for nearly 14 years. I'm sure much has changed since then. This year, the kids are big enough to ride some of what Universal and Islands of Adventure has to offer, so we have pre-purchased tickets for both, in addition to our usual Disney stops. We'll be leaving late in February, so I'll keep you up to speed on all the new stuff. | Universal Studios Hollywood '92 | Jan 30, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | That's awesome Barry. There are so many specials that have come and gone and have been all but forgotten. I tried coming up with a few of them as part of the clips shown in the RetroDaze Halloween Special. I'll have to dig up some more for next year. If you can, maybe PM me some names of some specials or Halloween episodes of shows that would be good to use. | What To Watch on Christmas | Dec 17, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | That's awesome Mike. I've watched Summers perform on Food Network over the years, and he does exceptional work wherever he goes. I also learned of his battle with OCD, and could sympathize with him as I too was diagnosed with it. Double Dare was just one of those shows that truly went from just another game show to legendary status. The production quality of the show was always top notch, and Summers himself made it worth the watch. Not to mention it was great for kids to have a game show of their own that really did well in the ratings. Great article Mike. Thanks for this. | I Double Dare You to Be Physically Active | Jul 16, 2014 | ![]()
